IDOL KO SI TEACHER

RATIONALE
Beauty pageants have long been a part of the Philippine popular culture. The Miss Philippines Ms. World and Ms. Earth were among the prestigious beauty pageants that has been part of the Philippine culture. As times changed, though, so have beauty pageants. Today, this competition, as well as national and local pageants, showcases the talent, intellect, and beauty of modern m en and women. These pageants have been adopted by different schools both private and public to emphasize talent, intellect, ethnicity and beauty. It also serves as a means to raise funds for school projects that will be beneficial for the entire community. Funds for sponsoring the pageants and providing the prizes are traditionally drawn from individuals, small businesses, corporations, civic groups, foundations, and universities. But for elementary schools, funds would definitely come from the school organization that organizes the event and community sponsors. In the Idol ko si Teacher Beauty Pageant however, the general rule is to raise the highest amount from various sponsors. Each grade level will be represented by two candidates both of which will try to raise money through their sponsors. The winner will receive a cash prize, a trophy, a certificate and the title of this years pageant. Among the benefits of this years Idol ko si teacher pageant is a 20% cash incentive from the grade level proceeds, A projector that will benefit the entire school and will definitely enhance the teaching instruction of any teacher who borrows it. Although pageant organizations offer substantial benefits to the contestants and sponsors, their primary activity of providing a forum depicting community customs and traditions, promotes the growth and development of the community and substantially benefit the community as a whole. Pageants also offer a recreational outlet for participants and community members. Beauty pageants continue to fulfill the traditional role of promoting the common good and general welfare of the s c h o o l a n d t h e e n t i r e community.
