ABSTRACT Waste is all waste generated by human activity and animal-shaped solid, sludge, liquid and gas is removed

because no longer needed or desired. From the calculation of waste samples at the Office of Jember Religion Ministry on April 916th 2013, in according by SNI 19-3694-1994 can be seen that the average volume of waste generated at the Office of Jember Religion Ministry each day as much as 86.7 litres and the average weight of waste generated each day as much as 3.0625 killograms. Based on the character of waste generated at the Office of Jember Religion Ministry consists of two types, namely organic waste and inorganic waste. The most widely produced waste is organic waste, especially papers and food scraps. Waste management at the Office of Jember Religion Ministry is starting from waste containing that there has been no segregation between organic waste and inorganic waste; collecting the waste in carts; and the final disposal in landfill. Should be segregation between organic and inorganic waste in waste management at the Office of Jember Religion Ministry because organic waste can be recycle and be composting.
