Reflection

For Literature in English subject this semester, we had given an assignment to write a critical writing on the literary criticism that have been choose based on the selected short story. Therefore, I did a research on feminism and what are the theories. I also made a research on the short story that I have choose, I Stand Here Ironing. In order to complete the assignment, I made a lot of research in internet and books in library. Throughout a lot of reading from various sources of books, I managed to find a lot of related articles that help me to write the essays. For this project, the most important part that I love the most when I able to spent a lot of my time with reading. I feel totally enjoyable when I discovered many things about what the exact feminism theory is and how writers apply this theory to their work of art. Besides that, I like to spend my time in library where I found that it is a calm and perfect place for me to study and did my assignment. There were some parts in the assignment that I found difficult to do where I need to choose the correct articles as a guideline for me to write the essay. I also faced problems in organizing my outline and did my introduction. In a moment, I felt that I understand my topic but in the other time I confused on what should I write, what should I put in my content, and how I need to organize my topic so that my essay will not out of the topic. In order to solve my problems, I meet Mr. Gengatharan Das, our Literature in English lecturer during our lectured hours to solve my confusion and ask for his help to guide me to make sure that I am in the right track. Mr. Gengatharan looked into my articles and gave his opinions and suggestions for me to choose the correct points and from the articles and which articles should I take to do the assignment. It totally worked where I may manage to do the essay in the full understanding. There are a lot of things that I learnt through this assignment. First, I need really strict with time. I cannot extend to do my work until last minutes. I must have a timetable just for organize my time on doing assignments, not just timetable for study. Besides that, I

learn that it is easy to study and have discussion with my peers in library where there have a lot of sources that I can refer. I hope in the future I can improve my assignment better not only in Literature in English assignment but also assignments for another subject.
