Telecom Sector Swap Guide

The document provides steps for correcting swapped sectors in a 3G radio: 1. Ensure the correct coordinates and azimuth of the cells are known and identify the swapped cells. 2. Visit the radio rack, which is usually outside the 2G shelter and smaller than the 2G rack. 3. Open the cabinet and swap the Tx/Rx cables of the identified swapped sector by unplugging and replugging them in the correct ports based on the diagram shown.

Carefully unplug each cable Tx /Rx of the swapped sector

and replace it in the correct port.

NB: The cables termination on the radio is like a LAN cable termination as to you connecting your LAN cable to your Laptop. Another tip is for you to remove a sector first and check from your TEMS window for the remaining serving cells from that particular site. This can give you a clue about the swapped cell and also knowing the remaining site on Air will assure you on the proceedings of your work.
