Ms. Winferts 11th Grade U.S. History Constitution
.
Expectations:
1. This classroom is a safe space. Therefore, all personal opinions or stories that are presented in this classroom should not be talked about outside of the classroom. What happens in U.S. History stays in U.S. History! With that being said, keep it real! When something is upsetting to you, come to me. If a topic in class made you uncomfortable, or something was said that you did not agree with, come talk to me. 2. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Find out what it means to me. Everyone who walks into this classroom shall remain respectful. We talk only positively about one and other. We call one and other only by our names. We keep our hands to ourselves. When someone is talking, the rest of the class is not. We value everyones opinion, even if we do not agree with them. Using phrases like You are wrong or That is stupid will not be tolerated. 3. Dont be tardy for the party. Arrive on time for class. If arriving after the bell, you need to have a pass. 4. All electronic devices are to remain put away during class unless otherwise instructed. If I have to wait to text my peeps, so do you. 5. Late work will only be accepted if previous arrangements have been made with me. 6. Participation is key to success in this class and is expected daily. This means, you will need to arrange your naps during another period in the day. Again, keep it real! If you are feeling ill, or have something else going on that may prevent you from actively participating in class, come to me before class and touch base. 7. Bring all required materials to class unless otherwise instructed. This includes your textbook, class notebook, class folder, a pen, and any other material I may request. 8. Besides the guidelines listed above, the expectations in school handbook apply in this classroom.
Class Procedures:
Arriving to Class: Arrive and be in your assigned seat before the bell rings. When entering the room after the bell, place your pass on my desk and go to your assigned seat. Missed Work: See me before class, after class, or during my listed free period for distribution and instructions about any work you may have missed due to absence. If you know ahead of time you will be missing class, you can arrange to get the assignments ahead of time. For this you will need to see me before class, after class, or during my listed free period. Late Work: Late work needs to be previously arranged with me. Turn it in directly to me before or after class. Requesting Extra Help: I am available everyday during my listed free period for any questions or concerns you may have. If this time does not work for you, come to me and we can arrange to meet before or after school. The social studies lab is open throughout the school day, as well as 45 minutes before and after school. I am there every Friday 10:50am-12:50pm and every Tuesday 3:00-4:10pm.
Reward System:
YES! Doing good pays off! 1. Every Friday students will receive 10 Great Watchers points for meeting all of the class expectations for the week. 2. I will reward bonus points to students who I deem to be going above and beyond the classroom expectations. You may receive a maximum of 12 points a week. 3.
