1. THESIS STATEMENT

Because of the internment camps of WWII, thousands of Japanese Americans were relocated to Chicago, where they impacted Chicago's culture forever through their organizations, businesses, and festivals.
2. SUMMARY OF PROJECT
Briefly explain your project and its conclusion. Include: How and why did change happen and what was the impact? Why is it historically significant? What historical meaning or importance can we learn from your findings?
My project will be discussing the Japanese American Relocation to Chicago and how it affected society. The change happened because of the internment camps of WWII, and the impact was the organizations doings in Chicago. This is historically significant because it altered Chicagoan society. We can find from this project that the diversity of cultures in Chicago changed, and we can learn if the Japanese Americans had a significant effect on Chicago.

My project integrates the NHD theme Turning Points in History: People, Ideas, Events into its argument through the Japanese American relocation. It was a turning point because the culture of Chicago was altered, and the lifestyles of Chicagoans as well.
4. PROCESS A. What historical question did you start off withand how did it change once you began doing your research? My question was Did the Japanese Americans have an affect on Chicago? It changed into my current thesis throughout my basic research.
B. What kinds of sources did you use as evidence to develop your argument (for example, letters, photographs, government documents, interviews, etc.)? I used letters, interviews, books, and others as evidence to develop my argument.
C. Select one piece of evidence that you used and explain how it influenced your argument. I Interviewed my granfather, John Sasaki, and what he told me changed my information and my outlook on if my thesis was proved or not.
D. List libraries (other than school), museums, and other institutions that you visited to do your research. I visited the Harold Washington Library, Sulzer Regional Library, the Chicago History Museum, and The Japanese American Service Committee Legacy Center.
