Stop seeing employees as faceless figures. Start acknowledging them as unique individuals. That’s how you create vibrant and engaged workplace environments. Here’s how you can lead: ✅ Define collective values: ↳ Work together to create core principles everyone can align with. ↳ Let these values influence decisions and actions across the board. ✅ Encourage open dialogue: ↳ Create regular spaces for all team members to voice their thoughts. ↳ Embrace feedback and implement it where possible. ✅ Foster shared moments: ↳ Plan events, challenges, or volunteer opportunities that connect people. ↳ Strengthen bonds through common experiences. ✅ Highlight individual efforts: ↳ Acknowledge both the large and small contributions. ↳ Show your team that they are truly appreciated. ✅ Prioritize development: ↳ Launch mentorship programs and provide career advancement opportunities. ↳ Help people grow personally and professionally. What to avoid as a leader: ❌ Enforcing participation: ↳ Avoid pressuring people into social activities. ↳ Let relationships develop naturally over time. ❌ Overlooking remote workers: ↳ Ensure your efforts to build community include those working remotely. ↳ Keep everyone connected. ❌ Skimping on resources: ↳ Don’t cut corners on building culture. ↳ Invest the necessary time and resources to make it successful. ❌ Relying solely on top-down approaches: ↳ Don’t assume leadership has all the answers. ↳ Empower everyone to help shape the community. ❌ Ignoring differences: ↳ Stay away from one-size-fits-all solutions. ↳ Be mindful of diverse needs and cultural differences. See your team for who they are, not just what they contribute. Lead the way you wish someone had led you. ♻️Repost for those needing to hear this. ➕Follow Justin Bateh, PhD for more. Kindness is an underrated superpower. It’s often mistaken for weakness or seen as something “extra” rather than essential. But when you show genuine kindness at work and in life - without expecting anything in return, you’re not just making your environment better, you’re actively transforming it and yourself. Kindness fosters trust, collaboration, and positivity. People who feel valued and supported are naturally more engaged and motivated. They’re more likely to help others, share ideas, and contribute to a culture where everyone can thrive. And the beauty of it is, kindness doesn’t require you to be in a leadership position - it’s something you can offer no matter your role. Here’s how to bring kindness into your workplace in tangible ways: 1. Start with Small Acts: Hold the lift door for a colleague, offer to grab someone a coffee, or help a team member who’s struggling with a task. These small gestures create a positive ripple effect, making the workplace more collaborative and friendly. 2. Acknowledge Others’ Efforts: Recognise when your colleagues are doing great work, especially when it might go unnoticed. A simple “well done” or “I appreciate your help” can boost morale significantly. When people feel appreciated, they’re more likely to engage with enthusiasm. 3. Listen Attentively: In meetings or casual conversations, give people your full attention. Don’t just wait for your turn to speak. Active listening shows respect and makes others feel valued. It fosters deeper connections and opens the door to more meaningful collaboration. 4. Be Patient with Mistakes: When someone makes a mistake, approach it with patience and understanding instead of frustration. We all have off days. Offering support rather than blame builds trust and helps your team learn and grow together. 5. Offer Help Without Agenda: If you see a colleague overwhelmed or stuck, offer assistance without expecting a favour in return. Whether it’s staying late to help meet a deadline or simply offering advice, selfless support strengthens team bonds. 6. Create a Safe Space for Feedback: Make it easy for colleagues to voice their opinions and ideas without fear of judgement. Encourage open dialogue and respond to feedback with kindness, even when it’s critical. This creates a culture of continuous improvement and trust. 7. Celebrate Wins, Big or Small: Whether it’s completing a big project or overcoming a small challenge, celebrate the achievements of your team. Recognition keeps people motivated and connected to their work, reinforcing a positive and encouraging atmosphere. 8. Be Kind to Yourself: It’s easy to be hard on yourself when things don’t go as planned. But self-compassion is key to maintaining balance. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding you offer others, allowing room for growth and rest when needed. ♻️Adam Grant

Building a sense of connection within the workplace is crucial for fostering collaboration and employee engagement. However, it's important to acknowledge the impact of cultural values on how this connection manifests. The concept of a "work family" can be well-intentioned, but it may not resonate universally. In cultures with high power distance, employees naturally hold strong respect for authority figures. Enforcing an overly familiar work environment might inadvertently create tension. Leaders seeking to build a strong team can instead focus on cultivating interconnectedness. Highlighting how each role contributes to the team's success fosters a sense of shared purpose. This reframes the dynamic, emphasizing how everyone plays a vital part in achieving common goals, regardless of position. Building a Culture of Contribution consists of: 1️⃣ Recognizing Individual Value. Leaders should actively acknowledge the unique skills and perspectives each team member brings to the table. 2️⃣ Transparency Matters. Sharing the bigger picture allows everyone to understand how their work fits into the overall strategy, fostering a sense of interconnectedness. 3️⃣ Celebrate Collective Wins. Recognizing team achievements reinforces the interconnectedness by highlighting the collective effort that drives success. By fostering interconnectedness, leaders can create a culture of respect, collaboration, and ultimately, a strong, cohesive team. This approach transcends cultural boundaries by focusing on what truly unites teams: a shared purpose and a desire to achieve exceptional results together. What are your experiences with fostering connection in a multicultural work environment? Share your insights in the comments!

Dear leaders, what are the 3 things you can do tomorrow to create a positive change for your company culture? Some of the struggles companies have reached out to me in the past few months: 🚨 Low team morale 🚨 Quiet quitting 🚨 Toxic behaviors 🚨 Adapting to market changes Culture shifts take time, but small, consistent and small actions are equally important for making lasting impact as they PRIME and SENSIBILISE for change. Here are three evidence-backed steps to start tomorrow: 1️⃣ Lead with Vulnerability Culture starts at the top. Leaders who show vulnerability build trust and psychological safety. Studies show that 70% of workplace engagement is driven by managers' behaviors (Gallup). Try: ✅ Share a personal failure or challenge ✅ Admit when you don’t have all the answers ✅ Express emotions authentically - especially shame and uncertainty 2️⃣ Align Your Environment with Company Values Subliminal messaging reinforces culture. If teamwork is a core value, does your office reflect that? Research shows that visual cues influence behavior—even small changes impact mindset. Examples: ✅ Showcasing team wins and non-work moments (birthdays, trips, celebrations) ✅ Creating spaces that foster casual connection (small tables, conversation cards) ✅ Offering shared resources that reinforce values (e.g., menstrual products for gender equity) 3️⃣ Create Space for Reflection Gratitude and prosocial behavior improve job satisfaction. Studies reveal that employees who practice gratitude are 23% more satisfied at work and those who volunteer feel more engaged. Simple ways to integrate this: ✅ A reflection board for employees to share daily reflections on provided prompts ✅ A "joy jar" where team members drop anonymous notes which you can open monthly ✅ A team mindfulness or meditation challenge Culture isn’t built overnight, but small steps create big change. These actions may seem minor—even trivial—but research shows it takes 60 days for habits to form and even longer for them to shape collective mindset. What’s one action that you found made the most difference in your work and team? #culture #change #workplace #gratitude #success

“Community for sale!”… just doesn’t work. After nearly 7 years of Kindred, and countless coffees with fellow community-makers, I’ve discovered one unbreakable rule: A community isn’t something you launch. It’s something sown, grown and earned. Here are some traps I’ve fallen into in the past in trying to build a community focused organisation, plus some suggestions of what’s ended up working better. 1. Treating community like a product on a shelf: The myth: “Pay your fee, unlock belonging.” The reality: True community is reciprocal. Members give as much as they take: time, ideas, and simply showing up… and repeat. If the relationship stops at the checkout, it stays transactional. Try this instead: Build moments that invite participation (buddy programmes, user-led workshops, welcome rituals). ____ 2. “Build it and they will come.” A beautiful space or slick platform is just the outline - the first 10%. The filling inside, the remaining 90% is purposeful programming: regular meet-ups, shared projects, inside jokes that glue people together. Try this: Design a dependable programme, building ritual where possible (daily coffee, weekly huddles, monthly socials, annual retreats). Consistency converts light touch dabbling into long term commitment. ____ 3. No shared values means no gravitational pull. Open doors feel welcoming, but undefined doors feel confusing. Humans gather around clear signals: values, mission, vibe. Without them you’re just hosting a networking event. Try this: Articulate three core values and wear them visibly; in tone, events, even décor … so kindred spirits recognise home when they see it. ____ 4. Projecting your version of community on everyone else. For some, belonging is chanting in the stadium; for others, litter-picking along the Thames. One size never fits all. Try this: Ask before you assume. Poll members, run feedback sessions, experiment with multiple formats - online and offline - to find what’s resonating. 5. Forgetting to ask for help. Strong communities run on contribution, not perfection. When leaders do everything, members do… well, nothing. Try this: Create low-barrier roles: community buddies to welcome new members, dog-walk leaders, playlist curators, cupcake bringers. Contribution builds ownership and pride. 6. Treating community as a one-hit wonder. An inaugural event is a spark, not a campfire. Without oxygen: repetition, reliability, ritual… that flame dies fast. Try this: Turn good moments into traditions. Same time, same place, predictable rhythm. Ritual turns strangers into insiders. The takeaway: Stop selling “community memberships” like gym passes. Start designing ecosystems where people can show up, chip in and grow together over time. When you focus on contribution, consistency and clear values, that’s when real community has a chance to thrive. #Community #Connection Kindred London

⚡Vibe Coding a Digital Twin: From Revit to Real-Time Control I’ve been working on an exciting workflow in our office to demonstrate that a Digital Twin isn't just about monitoring—it’s about control. This app connects our physical standing desks to a digital model, and the entire logic was built with Google Antigravity/𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝟯 𝗽𝗿𝗼. Here is how it works 𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: It starts with a 3D Revit model(our office) saved as cloud in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). 𝟮. 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀: In ACC, I create model-based assets which are then imported directly into Autodesk Tandem. 𝟯. 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: My custom app connects to the desks via Bluetooth to "listen" for activity. 𝟰. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗰: When a physical desk moves, the new height is instantly updated in the digital system(Tandem) with Autodesk Platform Services. 𝟱. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿: Built API with FastAPI, this turns the desk into a REST endpoint. This means the Digital Twin can actually move the physical desk via HTTP requests. 𝟲. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲: To control the Dencon A/S desk (LINAK system), I utilize the open-source linak-controller library for Bluetooth communication This is just a demo from daily office life, but it shows how accessible smart building tech has become. 🔗 Links: 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗔𝗣𝗜: https://lnkd.in/ehsszbhY 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿: https://lnkd.in/eVvS5QEY #DigitalTwin #Autodesk #APS #VibeCoding #GoogleGemini #FastAPI #IoT #BIM #SmartBuildings #Python #RestAPI #Tandem

I’ve spent the last decade building global MarComms programs within large, complex companies. Here’s what I’ve learned about activating internal partners and making quick progress toward goals: 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗿𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁. Focus on winning allies across the organization by understanding each colleague’s objectives and finding ways to support one another. Don’t worry about empire building. On paper, you may have a team of two, but in reality, you’ll have 50 people in your corner helping bring your vision to life. 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱. When starting a position, quickly run a situation analysis and develop a hypothesis for the change that needs to take place. Even as your full strategy remains in development, identify and share a few core principles that can immediately unite your community. 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻–𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀. Folks in Greece may have a different idea for bringing a program to life than the team in Kuala Lumpur or Canada. It’s important to articulate non-negotiable standards while allowing for maximum local/regional flexibility. Results will be better if local teams feel empowered. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰. Communicate openly and often about your progress. Use internal communication channels to celebrate wins and recognize key players; make them look good to their managers. Host regular meetings to gather your internal community and even consider a light newsletter to share updates. When appropriate, communicate externally on LinkedIn – this can actually yield even greater internal momentum. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘁𝘀. Within large multinational companies, it’s common for a team in one part of the world to be wrestling with an issue that a team elsewhere has already faced. With a global view, if you can connect colleagues across boundaries, you’ll speed up problem-solving – plus, you’ll achieve goodwill, which feeds back into the community-building efforts mentioned above. #Marketing #Communications #SocialMedia #Leadership

Businesses today are moving from simple workflows to intelligent, self-managing systems powered by AI. The journey starts with workflow automation (rule-based), evolves into AI automation (data-driven), grows into AI agents (goal-driven), and finally reaches agentic automation (multi-agent, autonomous collaboration). Here’s how they differ 👇 1. Workflow Automation Rule-based systems that follow predefined steps. Great for repetitive, structured tasks but limited when exceptions or complexity arise. 2. AI Automation Workflows enhanced by AI intelligence. Systems learn from data, optimize actions, and provide insights while still keeping humans in the loop. 3. AI Agent Semi-autonomous, goal-driven systems. Agents can plan tasks, choose tools, and adapt strategies to deliver results with minimal human input. 4. Agentic Automation Networks of multiple agents working together. They share context, self-manage conflicts, and act autonomously - scaling automation beyond individual tasks. Businesses moving toward agentic automation unlock agility, resilience, and scalability, turning automation into a true competitive advantage.
