Vida cotidiana
Em nossa vida cotidiana, vivemos e
convivemos com diferentes tipos de
ações, ações que fazem parte do
nosso dia a dia, seja ela pequena ou
grande, espontânea ou planejada,
rápida ou duradoura, etc...
Para comunicar estas ações
generalizadas na língua Inglesa,
utilizamos o Simple Present (tempo
verbal mais usado)
É crucial termos sólido o
conhecimento sobre subject/object
pronouns e também de action and
linking verbs!
Usos do Simple present!
1 – Hábitos e hobbies!
Usamos a conjugação verbal do Simple present para falarmos de ações
rotineiras (frequentes) do nosso dia a dia, tais como pequenas partes de
nossas rotinas (lavar os dentes, arrumar a camae, ir à escola, etc…) e também
para falar passatempos e atividades físicas (jogar video-game, desenhar,
praticar esportes, etc…)
*Action verbs
• I play soccer
• I brush my teeth in the morning
• I like to write novels

2 – Situações permanentes (duradouras)
Para falarmos situações presents que nós epseramos que não mude (por um
longo período de tempo – não imediatamente)
*Action verbs/ Linking verbs
• I live in Corumbá
• I Study at Tenir
• Palmeiras doesn´t have ´´mundial´´
Usos do Simple present!
3 – Fatos Comuns – verdades Universais
Usamos a conjugação verbal do Simple present para falarmos de fatos que
fazem parte do senso comum, algo que é majoritáriamente aceita como
verdade!
*Linking verbs (sometimes action verbs)
• Brasil is the country of footbal
• Cristiano Ronaldo plays soccer really well
• Cats are cute
• 2 + 2 is 4
Usos do Simple present!
4 – Ações curta (rápidas)
Usamos a conjugação verbal do Simple present para falarmos de ações
simultâneas e de rápido acontecimento e de rápida sucessão (uma atrás da
outra) – um bom exemplo disto são narrações de esportes.
*action verbs
• Neymar clears one, Neymar clears two, Neymar shoots, He scores!
GOAAAAL!
Usos do Simple present!
5 – Sentimentos e opiniões
Usamos a conjugação verbal do Simple present para falarmos a respeito de
sentimentos e emoções de alguém (a respeito ou não de algo), e também para
falar o que pensamos sobre algo.
*linking verbs
• She seems happy today!
• He is upset about the test…
• They are unhappy with the results

6 – Acontecimentos futuros
Usamos a conjugação verbal do Simple present para falarmos a respeito de
coisas que ainda não aconteceram (mas espera-se que irão acontecer
futuramente). Isto pode ser contra intuitive, já que estamos usamos uma
conjugação verbal atual (presente) para falar de algo que ainda irá acontecer.
• The class starts at 8:00 a.m.
• Halloween is on October.
• What time does the bus leave?

Estrutura gramatical! (+)
Para montarmos uma oração no Simple present (afirmativa) utilizamos a
seguinte estrutura:
Sujeito + verbo + complemento verbal
Porém, percebemos que existe um Acréscimo do –s ao verbo principal
quando emprega-se a Terceira pessoa do Singular (He, She, It)
Regras do -s
Os verbos seguem algumas regras ao acrescentar o –s, dependendo em
suas terminações:
1 - Na maioria dos verbos, acrescenta-se –s:
dance, live, talk, feel, get, take, throw -> danceS, liveS, talkS, feelS,
getS, takeS, throwS
2 - Em verbos terminados em –ss, –sh, –ch, –o, –x, acrescenta-se –es:
miss, pass, watch, finish, do -> misses, passes,
watches, finishes, does
Regras do -s
Os verbos seguem algumas regras ao acrescentar o –s, dependendo em
suas terminações:
3 - Em verbos terminados em vogal + y, acrescenta-se –s:
Play, buy, toy -> playS, buyS, toyS
4 - Em verbos terminados em consoante + y, retira-se o –y e, depois,
acrescenta-se –ies:
Study, carry, worry -> studies, carries,
worries
Obs: Verbos irregulares

Maria reads a book before

They play soccer every Saturday.
Dogs bark when they're excited.
He eats breakfast at 7 a.m. every
day.
My mother cooks delicious meals.

Para montarmos uma oração no Simple present (afirmativa) utilizamos a
seguinte estrutura:
Sujeito + don´t + verbo + complemento
verbal
Existe uma variação quando emprega-se a Terceira pessoa do Singular (He,
She, It)
Doesn´t
Mas por que se emprega o Doesn´t ao invés do Don´t? Para onde foi o –s
que acrestávamos no verbo principal?
Na verdade, acrescentamos o –s no Don´t ao invés do verbo principal
(verbo auxiliar)
Primeiro verbo seguido do sujeito
DON´T + S = DOESN´T
Exemplos
She doesn´t sing beautifully.
Maria doesn´t read a book before
bedtime.
They don´t play soccer every

Para montarmos uma oração no Simple present (interrogativa) utilizamos a seguinte
estrutura:
Do + Sujeito + verbo + complemento verbal ?
Existe uma variação quando emprega-se a Terceira pessoa do Singular (He, She, It)
Does + Sujeito + verbo + complemento verbal ?
Does
Mas por que se emprega o Does ao invés do Do? Para onde foi o –s que
acrestávamos no verbo principal?
Na verdade, acrescentamos o –s no Do ao invés do verbo principal (verbo
auxiliar)
