will / going to
O QUE É FUTURO EM INGLÊS?
Em inglês, falamos do futuro
principalmente de duas formas:
WILL + verbo
BE GOING TO + verbo
Ambas significam “vai + verbo”,
mas têm sentidos diferentes.
DIFERENÇA
WILL: opinião, previsão, expectativa,
promessa, oferta, decisão na hora.
GOING TO: plano, intenção, algo já
combinado, previsão baseada em
evidências.
Pense assim:
WILL = “Eu acho que vai…”
GOING TO = “Eu já planejei que vou…”
FUTURE WITH
“WILL”
ESTRUTURA
FORMA AFIRMATIVA
Sujeito + will + verbo
Exemplo (Página 158 do livro English Lives):
Your time will come
“Sua hora vai chegar.”
FORMA NEGATIVA
Sujeito + will not + verbo
Forma curta (contraída): won’t
Exemplo:
You will not get back that time.
“Você não vai recuperar esse tempo.”
FORMA INTERROGATIVA
Will + sujeito + verbo?
Exemplos:
Will you come tomorrow?
“Você vai vir amanhã?”
CONTRAÇÕES COM WILL
I will → I’ll
You will → You’ll
He/She will → He’ll / She’ll
We will → We’ll
They will → They’ll
Negativa:
will not won’t
She won’t go to the concert.
“Ela não vai ao show.”
QUANDO USAR WILL?

I think the world will be different.
“Acho que o mundo vai ser diferente.”
2. PREVISÕES
It will rain tomorrow.
“Vai chover amanhã.”

Quando você decide no momento da fala:
The phone is ringing. I will answer it.
“O telefone está tocando. Eu atendo.”
I’m hungry. I will make a sandwich.
“Estou com fome. Vou fazer um sanduíche.”

Sujeito + am / is / are + going to + verbo
I’m going to study tonight.
“Eu vou estudar hoje à noite.”
She’s going to travel.
“Ela vai viajar.”
FORMA NEGATIVA
Sujeito + am/is/are + not + going to + verbo
I’m not going to eat junk food.
“Eu não vou comer besteira.”
FORMA INTERROGATIVA
Am / Is / Are + sujeito + going to + verbo?
Are you going to study today?
“Você vai estudar hoje?”
QUANDO USAR GOING TO?
1. PLANOS (Página 160 do livro English Lives):
What are you going to do next weekend?
“O que você vai fazer no próximo fim de
semana?”
Não é opinião. São planos já decididos.
2. INTENÇÕES
I’m going to start a course next year.
“Vou começar um curso ano que vem.”
QUANDO USAR GOING TO?
