Vejamos, agora, o tempo Future (will and to be going to).

Bons Estudos!

Intenções e possibilidades: Will.

I will go out tomorrow night.

tomorrow night.

I will go out tomorrow night if it is no training.

expressas pelo if.

I will pass on the test if I study.

If you work hard, you will make enough money to travel abroad.

Look at that old lady over there with all those bags. I will help her.

Eu tenho a
intenção de ajudá-la. Se ela me permitir eu a ajudarei.

Conjugação do will e suas contrações

Will Contraction Negative
I will I’ll I won’t
You will You’ll You won’t
He will He’ll He won’t
She will She’ll She won’t
It will It’ll It won’t
We will We’ll We won’t
You will You’ll You won’t
They will They’ll They won’t

A Pronúncia de will

praticar as pronúncias das contrações: I’ll, you’ll, he’ll, she’ll, it’ll, we’ll,
you’ll, they’ll.

Também podemos praticar a pronúncia do “will” com o vídeo I’ll,

you’ll,... contractions of “will” - Quick Pronunciation - acessando o link:

I’ll go to the beach at the end of the year.

You’ll not help your mother tomorrow night.
He’ll work during the whole summer.
She’ll start college next semester.
It’ll like its house when it sees it.
We won’t go to the concert tonight.
They will not play the guitar this week.

necessariamente o “wont”. Vejamos:

You’ll not help your mother tomorrow night.

You won’t help your mother tomorrow night.

week, next month, next year, tonight, this week, this month etc.

will. Observe:

Jhonny will buy a new car this month.

If I pay my credit card bill today, I will be able to use it tomorrow.

To be going to
do ano.
viagem.

utilizamos to be going to. Por exemplo:

I am going to travel Cancun.

I am going to travel to Cancun in December.

Também utilizamos o to be going to, para ações que sabemos que acontecerão.
Esse futuro expressa a certeza do locutor:

I am going to pass that test.

Podemos, ainda, utilizar o to be going to na sua forma contraída, contraindo apenas

o verbo to be no presente:

I’m going to go shopping this afternoon.

It’s going to rain later on.

She’s going to play volleyball at the beach. She is taking her volleyball.

They’re not going to repeat the same mistake again.

You aren’t going to play at the audition because you are not ready.

We’re going to sing at the theater tomorrow night.

To be going to X Present Continuous
Não é apenas para o Futuro Simples que utilizamos o ing, com o verbo to be no
presente.

Ao contrário do Future Simple (going to),

Future (going to):

I’m going to travel at the end of the year. (The year is still in the middle and you
have six more months for it to finish).

Present Continuous:

I’m traveling after school today. (I only have to wait for some hours and I will
travel).

futuro para indicar um plano: after; at the end of; tomorrow etc.

She’s working after six today.

They aren’t eating lunch at 12 o’clock today. They’re having lunch only when the
meeting is over.

We’re calling Jonathan to come here at the end of the month.

The contractor is going to deliver our house at the end of the year.

The contractor is delivering our house tomorrow afternoon.

Sheila and Jessica are going to that club tonight.

Jully is exercising tomorrow morning.

Pamela’s opening a new store at the mall this week.

They are certainly going to the food court later. They love to eat there.

My kids are going camping this weekend.

I am definitely going to your party on Friday, Sid.

You’re failing this semester because you are not taking school seriously.

Podemos utilizar o Future Simple (going to) e o Immediate Future em alguns casos
sem diferença de significado. É uma questão de escolha do locutor.

I am going to see Paul this weekend.

I’m seeing Paul this weekend.

My mom is going to visit me this weekend.

My mom is visiting me this weekend.

Paula and Joseph are going to get married at the end of the month.

Paula and Joseph are getting married at the end of the month.

Juliet is going to the Caribbean at the end of the year.

to be going to.

There + be

There is still something very interesting to talk about.

There are some interesting topics to discuss.

Let’s talk about existence
Quando falamos sobre existência, em inglês, temos que utilizar o verbo to be junto
com There.

There is /isn’t

There are/ aren’t

Nesse caso, eles carregam o sentido de haver.

Há uma casa no final da rua.

(There is a house at the end of the street).

Há carros na garagem. Eles devem estar em casa.

(There are cars in the garage. They must be at home).

Podemos notar o uso do There + be no texto abaixo:

There are many students in class today. They are all wearing heavy clothes. There
are 12 girls wearing uniforms and 13 boys wearing jackets. There is one boy wearing a
black hat and two girls wearing pink shoes. There is a student wearing a skirt and
long socks. In the classroom, there is a map and there is a boy looking at it. There is
one black board and there is a teacher’s desk. There are 25 chairs and 26 desks in
the classroom. There are 30 old books in the back and there is on black TV on the
corner.

- Black shirt

- White board

- Good teacher

- Long socks

- Big elephant

- Young women

- Good teacher

- Good teachers

- Long sock

- Long socks

adjetivo para classificar cada substantivo acima: good, long.

There are good long socks in the store.

There is an old black cat in my garden.

Opinion Age Color

There is an old black cat in my garden.

There are good long socks in the store.

Outros exemplos:

There are beautiful big orange candles in that store.

Susan as a very good old friend of mine.

I had a lovely old pink sweater in my bedroom drawer.

She gave him a pretty little red jacket as a birthday gift.

Their car is that fast 1975 pink Beatle over there.

I have a well-preserved 1925 silver coin in my house. I like to collect stuff.

There + will + be

Vejamos:

There will be a party to go to next weekend.

There will be a lot of people standing in line because of the big sale we are
having on Monday.

There won’t be a lot of money to spend if we keep buying silly things here.

Para perguntas de modo geral, utilizamos o verbo to be antes do there:

Is there a car parked in front of my house?

Are there people in the classroom today?

Will there be a lot of snow in the area tomorrow?

There + Past Simple (be)

There was food in the refrigerator.

There were 20 kids in the get-together yesterday night.

utilizamos o there + be (past):

There was/wasn’t

There were/weren’t

There was a ball in the court yesterday. Do you know where it is now?

There wasn’t any good milk in the refrigerator the last time I checked.
There were a lot of good reasons to come back to Italy. Now, I just don’t see
them anymore.

There weren’t girls wearing uniforms at school last week. What happened?

Respostas curtas, utilizando o There + be.

Is there a good movie at the theater this week?

Yes, there is.

No, there isn’t.

Are there good museums to visit in town?

Yes, there are.

No, there aren’t.

Will there be a good event to go to this weekend?

Yes, there will be.

No, there won’t be.

Was there one kid wearing a team t-shirt at the gym today?

Yes, there was.

No, there wasn’t.

Were there good players at the game tonight, honey?

Yes, there were.

No, there weren’t.

O texto a seguir traz alguns exemplos aplicados do uso there + be (existência).

There are lots of differences between men and women in relation to business and
negotiating. They say men are better at negotiating because people take them
more seriously.

There is a big problem in all of this, men and women have conquered equal rights
even though, there are lots of people who still insist on give preference to men
instead of women or even, have an impartial judgment.

There have been changes in the scenario although. Companies are understanding
that women there is something about the women that impress some leaders of
companies. Men would use intimidation to try to negotiate. While women will use
their power of negotiation to do so. They will argue better and will use everything
they have to their benefit.

There used to be a myth that a woman could not do a man’s job, although
nowadays this myth has been extinguished. There are lots of capable women out
there, as there are lots of men too. So, we hope that soon all this prejudice will be
over and there will be only good employees working and taking high spots at
company. And that only based on their own capacity and not their gender.

Atividade
texto abaixo e identifique a alternativa correta, considerando a estrutura do
tempo verbal.

A man enters a psychic’s office because he is interested in knowing if he

will be able to get
the job promotion he so wanted.
The psychic looks at him and says: “You are here because you want to know
your future!”
The man, not surprised, answered: Yes.
So, have a seat and I am going to tell you exactly what I see here. She
pointed the chair and
the man sat.
“Hmm.. I see.” She says, grabbing the man’s hand. “You are going to have a
nice life. You’re
going to be married for some time and going to work a lot.”
The man still not surprised, gets excited for finally being able to hear those
things.
“And I see you’re going to try to get a job promotion and there will be a
fight for this spot.” –
she goes on.
The man, gets more excited nodding his head.
“You’re getting it, darling. You’re being promoted today”. She looks at him
in the eye and,
“you are paying me $200 dollars and that will happen.”
The man opens his wallet and gives the woman all the money and leaves.
Very happy and $200 dollars poorer.

A. Will be able to, em “… he will be able to get the job promotion he so

wanted”, pode ser substituído por “will get the job”, sem perder seu
conteúdo semântico.

B. “You’re getting it, darling.” está no Present Progressive/Continuous.

C. “You’re being promoted…” e “you’re going to try to get a job

What will life be like in 2035?

By Dean Evans

Grasshopper nuggets, ambulance drones and self-driving cars… How

different might life be 20 years from now? Technology expert Dean Evans
investigates.

Technologically, the 20-year jump from 2015 to 2035 will be huge. During
that time some elements of our world will change beyond recognition while
others will stay reassuringly (or disappointingly) familiar. Consider the 20
years to 2015. Back in 1995 we were in the early days of the internet, we
worked in cubicles and our computers were chunky and powered by
Windows 95. There were no touch screen phones or flat screen TVs; people
laughed at the idea of reading electronic books, and watching a home
movie meant loading a clunky cassette into your VCR.

So, what will our world really be like 20 years from now? What does the
future hold for the food we eat, the technology we use and the homes we
live in? It would be tempting to roll out the clichés – food pills, flying cars
and bases on the moon – but the reality will probably be less exciting. The
world in 2035 will probably be much like it is today, but smarter and more
automatic. Some innovations we might not notice, while others will knock us
sideways, changing our lives forever [...].

(Adapted from Suncorp , acesso em: 26 mar. 2019).

B. Está no Simple Past e no Future Simple.

possíveis acontecimentos no Futuro.

D. “What will our world really be like 20 years from now?”, poderia ser
substituído por “What is our world really like 20 years from now?”,

planos futuros, com o uso do be going to e do Immediate Future. Devemos lembrar

advérbios e o verbo to be na conjugação correta.
a organização do pensamento.
