pxt-bump Manual Page

Bumps the version number of the extension.

pxt bump [--update] [--upload] [--version <major|minor|patch|semver>] [--pr] [--nopr]

Direct bumps respect Git’s configured push remote and refspecs. The commit and release tags are pushed atomically, so a rejected commit cannot publish its tag.

Protected branches, and branches whose protection status cannot be determined, default to a pull request. If the required GitHub credentials or origin details are unavailable, the command fails before bumping. Use --nopr to override protection detection and force a direct push.

Options

–update

Updates the pxt-core dependency version to the latest tag.

–upload

Uploads the target upon bumping

–version

Which part of the version to bump, or a complete version number to assign. Defaults to ‘patch’

–pr

Bump via pull request rather than direct push

–nopr

Bump via direct push rather than pull request (overrides –pr)
