PAST SIMPLE
Come si forma il Past Simple?
A. Verbi regolari
Basta aggiungere -ed alla fine del verbo base:
• play → played
(giocare → giocato)
• walk → walked
(camminare → camminato)
B. Verbi irregolari
Questi non seguono una regola precisa e devi impararli a memoria. Alcuni esempi:
• go → went
(andare → andato)
• eat → ate
(mangiare → mangiato)
• have → had
(avere → avuto)
Come si formano le frasi nel Past Simple?
A. Frasi affermative
Soggetto + verbo al passato:
• I watched a movie last night.
(Ho guardato un film ieri sera.)
• They went to the park.
(Sono andati al parco.)
B. Frasi negative
Si usa did not (didn't) + verbo base (infinito senza to):
• I didn’t watch TV yesterday.
(Non ho guardato la TV ieri.)
• She didn’t eat breakfast.
(Non ha fatto colazione.)
C. Domande
Si usa did + soggetto + verbo base:
• Did you study for the test?
(Hai studiato per il test?)
• Did they go to the party?
(Sono andati alla festa?)
Quando si usa il Past Simple?
Si usa per descrivere:
• Azioni completate nel passato:
Yesterday I played football.
(Ieri ho giocato a calcio.)
• Eventi passati con un tempo specifico:
She visited Paris last year.
(Ha visitato Parigi l'anno scorso.)
• Abitudini nel passato (ora finite):
When I was a child, I walked to school every day.
(Quando ero bambino, andavo a scuola a piedi ogni giorno.)
4. Espressioni di tempo comuni
Spesso nel Past Simple troviamo parole che indicano il passato, come:
• Yesterday → Ieri
• Last week/month/year → La scorsa settimana / mese / anno
• Two days ago → Due giorni fa
• In 2010 → Nel 2010
