to have con significato di:
Esperienza: I had many accidents when I was 18.
Consumo: I’m having dinner.
Causativo: Last week I had my house refurbished.
to see 1 = incontrare, avere appuntamento, vedersi, intervistare,
discorrere:
We were seeing him about that Lo abbiamo intervistato ieri su
yesterday. questo.
I am seeing him tonight. Lo incontrerò stasera.
to see off = accompagnare al treno, ecc. chi parte:
She is seeing him off at Croydon Lo accompagnerà lei all' aeroporto

Si può considerare corrispondente a una forma progressiva l'uso di can,
could con i verbi di percezione: to see, to hear, ecc. e con: to remember,
to find, ecc. Avendo il past simple e il present simple senso generico,
abituale, si usano correttamente solo in frasi come:
I saw (used to see) him once a Lo vedevo una volta alla settimana. week.
l see him every day. Lo vedo ogni giorno.
Ma per percezioni o atti singoli, in cui generalmente si sottintende
anche un piccolo sforzo, si preferisce usare can, could:
