Definisi Procedure Text
Procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how
something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps.
Teks prosedur adalah teks yang dirancang untuk menggambar
bagaimana sesuatu dicapai melalui urutan tindakan atau
langkah – langkah.
Tujuan Procedure Text
The social purpose of procedure text is to show how
something is done through sequence of steps which enable the
reader to achieve the goal.
Tujuan sosial teks prosedur adalah untuk menunjukkan
bagaimana sesuatu dilakukan melalui tata urutan langkah yang
memungkinkan pembaca untuk mencapai tujuan.
Generic Structure of Procedure Text
Procedure text memiliki skema susunan umum atau generic structure. Berikut
ini generic structure of procedure text :
1. Goal : Memberikan informasi tentang maksud dan tujuan prosedur dan
memprediksi suatu kesimpulan.
2. Materials : Berisi daftar materi atau bahan-bahan yang dibutuhkan untuk
melakukan suatu prosedur.
3. Steps : Daftar urutan instruksi/aktivitas untuk mencapai tujuan dalam
urutan langkah yang benar.
4. Result : Hasil dari serangkaian langkah-langkah yang telah dilakukan.
Ciri Kebahasaan Procedure Text
a. Menggunakan pola kalimat imperative (perintah), misalnya; cut, don’t mix,
dll.
b. Menggunakan action verbs, misalnya turn, put, don’t, mix, dll.
c. Menggunakan connectives (kata penghubung) untuk mengurutkan
kegiatan, misalnya; then, while, dll.
d. Menggunakan adverbials (kata keterangan) untuk menyatakan secara rinci
waktu,tempat, serta cara yang akurat, misalnya; for five minutes, 2 hours,
dll.
e. Menggunakan Simple Present Tense.
f. Biasanya menggunakan penomoran, misalnya; first, second, next, then, dll.
Contoh Procedure Text
How to Make Fried Rice
Goal: memberikan instruksi mengenai tata cara pembuatan nasi goreng.
Materials: frying pan, spatula, plate
/Inggridients:
1. A plate of rice (1 piring nasi)
2. 1 red chili pepper chopped (1 buah cabai merai yang dirajang)
3. 1 clove garlic chopped fine (1 siung bawang putih yang dirajang)
4. 1 clove chopped onion (1 siung bawang merah yang dirajang)
5. Pinch of salt (sedikit garam)
6. 2 tbsp margarine (2 sendok makan margarin)
7. 2 tbsp soy sauce (2 sendok makan kecap)
8. The vegetables like lettuce, cabbage chopped ( sayur-sayuran seperti
sawi, kubis yang sudah dirajang)
9. Shredded egg, sliced cucumber, tomatoes for garnish suit for your taste
(irisan telur dadar, potongan mentimun, tomat sesuai selera anda).
Steps (langkah-langkah) :
1. First, crush the red chili pepper, garlic, onion and salt until soft. (Pertama
ulek cabai merah, bawang putih, bawang merah dan garam sampai
halus).
2. Add the margarine over low heat for 1 minute on the frying pan
(tambahkan margarin pada wajan penggorengan dengan api kecil selam
1 menit).
3. Add the seasoning and stir until half medium, then add the vegetable
(tambahkan bumbu dan aduk hingga agak matang lalu tambahkan
sayuran).
4. Then add the rice and soya sauce ( lalu tambahkan nasi dan kecap).
5. Stir until well mix and medium ( aduk hingga tercampur rata dan
matang).
6. Serve hot on a plate and give the garnish suit for you want (sajikan
panas-panas diatas piring dan beri hiasan sesuai keinginan anda).
