1. Pengertian Descriptive Text
Descriptive Text adalah teks yang menggambarkan seseorang, benda, tempat, atau hewan secara rinci,
agar pembaca dapat membayangkan seperti apa bentuk, sifat, atau keadaan objek yang digambarkan.
2. Tujuan (Purpose):
To describe a particular person, place, or thing in detail.
(Untuk menggambarkan seseorang, tempat, atau benda secara detail.)
3. Struktur Teks (Text Structure)
Bagian Nama Fungsi Contoh
a. Identification: Memperkenalkan subjek yang akan dideskripsikan.
Contoh: My cat’s name is Luna. She is my favorite pet.
b. Description: Menjelaskan detail tentang subjek: bentuk, warna, sifat, kebiasaan, dll
Contoh: She has white fur and blue eyes. She likes to sleep on my bed.
4. Ciri Kebahasaan (Language Features)
a. Simple Present Tense: Menggunakan bentuk waktu sekarang. (She has long hair.)
b Adjectives (Kata sifat): Untuk menggambarkan sifat atau bentuk big, small, beautiful, tall, funny
c. Nouns (Kata benda): Untuk menyebut nama orang, benda, tempat, atau hewan cat, park,
teacher
d. Linking Verbs (to be): Menghubungkan subjek dan predikat (is, am, are)
e. Pronouns: Kata ganti orang atau benda (he, she, it, they)
f. Details: Menambahkan informasi khusus (color, size, hobby, behavior, etc)

Example 1: Describing a Person
My Best Friend
My best friend is Rani. She is 13 years old. She is tall and slim. She has long black hair and brown eyes.
Rani is very friendly and smart. She always helps her friends at school. Her favorite subject is English
because she likes learning new words.

Identification: My best friend is Rani.
Description: She is 13 years old... helps her friends... favorite subject is English.
