besar pelajar bahasa Inggris pernah mendengar jenis teks yang satu ini. Procedure Text sebetulnya

Resep memasak adalah salah satu teks yang masuk ke dalam jenis procedure text. Di dalam resep
tentunya terdapat langkah-langkah, alat dan bahan yang mengarahkan pembacanya untuk membuat
resep tersebut. Selain resep kamu juga pasti pernah melihat buku instruksi kita membeli tv atau alat
elektronik lainnya. Teks yang ada di dalam buku instruksi itu juga merupakan salah satu contoh dari

A. Pengertian Procedure Text

Procedure Text adalah sebuah teks yang dibuat untuk menginstruksikan pembaca tentang bagaimana
cara menyelesaikan sebuah tugas tertentu. Umumnya, procedure text berfokus pada bagaimana cara
membuat sesuatu dan bagaimana cara melakukan sesuatu. Procedure text umumnya ditemukan
pada resep masakan, manual book atau eksperimen sains.
Beberapa procedure text yang bisa ditemukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yaitu;
 petunjuk arah: bagaimana cara mencapai suatu tempat. Instruksi yang dituliskan harus
sangat spesifik termasuk nama dan judul lokasi. Bahasa formal dan penambahan gambar
peta bisa membuat instruksi petunjuk arah jadi lebih mudah dipahami.
 instruksi: Instruksi berarti menunjukkan bagaimana cara melakukan sesuatu. Sebetulnya
mirip dengan resep masakan. Bahasa yang digunakan tentunya harus disesuaikan dengan

 resep masakan: Resep masakan berisi bagaimana cara memasak sesuatu. Resep adalah
salah satu teks yang universal. Bahan-bahan dan alat-alat serta visual tentunya sangat

 petunjuk permainan: Kamu pasti pernah membeli sebuah mainan dan terdapat petunjuk

 buku manual: Buku manual biasanya didapat setelah membeli alat elektronik dan bahkan
kendaraan. Berisi tentang bagaimana cara mengoperasikan barang tersebut, peringatan-
peringatan yang harus diketahui. Buku manual harus ditulis dengan sespesifik mungkin.
 agenda: Agenda biasanya dibuat ketika ingin mengadakan acara. Pesta ulang tahun,
pernikahan. liburan dan lain-lain. Biasanya berisi dengan kegiatan-kegiatan apa yang akan
dilakukan dan waktu pelaksanaannya.

Jenis teks ini memiliki tujuan untuk memberikan informasi kepada pembaca atau arahan yang
berurutan sehingga pembaca bisa berhasil melakukan tugas tertentu dengan efisien dan tepat.
C. Generic Structure Procedure Text
Setiap jenis teks tentunya memiliki generic structure, untuk procedure text generic structurenya
sangat berbeda dengan teks lain.
1. Goal atau tujuan
Goal atau tujuan dari procedure text sudah terletak pada judulnya, how to make cookie, how to clean

2. Bahan-bahan atau material

D. Fitur Bahasa Procedure Text
Selain generic structure, procedure text tentunya memiliki fitur-fitur bahasa. Berikut adalah fitur

1. Simple Present Tense
Untuk menulis procedure text harus menggunakan simple present tense. Hal ini disebabkan karena
dalam procedure text terdapat kalimat-kalimat fakta tentang bagaimana pembuatan dan

2. Kata Penghubung
Di dalam procedure text juga digunakan kata-kata penghubung yang berguna untuk menghubungkan

lainnya.
3. Kata Keterangan
Kata keterangan atau adverbs digunakan untuk menjelaskan keterangan waktu misalnya. wait for 1
hour, in 15 minutes dan lain-lain. Kata keterangan juga digunakan untuk memberikan keterangan
sebuah cara misalnya slowly, well, fast dan lain-lain.
4. Kalimat Perintah
Kalimat perintah digunakan dalam procedure text. Misalnya add 1 tablespoon of salt, mix the
dough dan lain-lain. Kalimat perintah harus diawali dengan kata kerja atau verbs seperti add, stir,
mix, heat, dan lain-lain.

Ingredients:
 1 cup all purpose flour
 2 tablespoons of sugar

How To Make:
 Add flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a small bowl. Whisk them together.

Steps:
  Remove dirt on the surface: Wet a paper towel. After that, squeeze the towel to excess

seconds.
 Last but not least, turn off the heat and pour the jook into the bowl. You can garnish it
with green onions, peanuts or whatever you like.
