Pengertian Report Text
What is report text? Report text is a text that presents information about something in
general based on research.
Dalam bahasa Indonesia, report text adalah teks yang berisikan informasi mengenai
sesuatu secara umum berdasarkan suatu penelitian. Report text bisa juga diartikan
sebagai teks laporan.

Kaidah Kebahasaan Report Text / Unsur kebahasaan
Dalam membuat report text, ada beberapa kaidah kebahasaan yang perlu kamu perhatikan,
di antaranya:
1. Simple Present Tense
Report text akan menggunakan Simple Present Tense, atau keadaan yang terjadi di masa
sekarang. Cirinya, terdapat kata-kata seperti often, usually, always, today, dan sebagainya.
2. General Nouns
Report text akan menjelaskan informasi secara umum berdasarkan fakta. Oleh karena itu,
noun yang digunakan juga bentuknya general. Contohnya, lion, cat, dog, dan sebagainya.
3. Linking Verb
Linking verb adalah kata kerja yang berfungsi untuk menghubungkan kata-kata lainnya.
Contohnya, is, are, am, dan sebagainya.
4. Technical Terms
Dalam report text juga sering menggunakan istilah yang berkaitan dengan topik yang
dibahas. Misalnya, ketika kamu membuat report text tentang hewan, maka
dalam text tersebut harus terdapat istilah mengenai hewan tersebut.
