PEMBAHASAN

A. Pengertian dan Fungsi Descriptive Text

Descriptive Text merupakan salah satu teks dari berbagai jenis teks

dalam bahasa Inggris. Pengertian Descriptive Text adalah teks yang

menjelaskan atau menggambarkan secara terperinci dari suatu obyek baik

dari bentuknya, sifatnya, jumlahnya, ataupun hal lain lainnya. Obyek yang

dimaksud disini dapat berupa benda, manusia, hewan, tumbuhan atau

berbagai macam hal lainnya. Umumnya Descriptive Text berfungsi untuk

menggambarkan atau mengungkapkan seseorang atau obyek lainnya baik

secara abstrak maupun secara konkret. Ini lah mengapa Descriptive Text

biasanya ditulis dengan bahasa yang lugas dan jelas. Tujuan penulisan yang

seperti ini adalah supaya para pembaca dapat dengan mudah menangkap

maksud dari teks tersebut.

B. Generic Structure ( Struktur Umum ) Descriptive Text

1. Identification

Identification atau Identifikasi adalah pendahuluan berupa gambaran umum

dari obyek yang akan di deskripsikan.

2. Description

Description atau Deskripsi adalah bagian yang berisi ciri ciri khusus dari

obyek yang dideskripsikan. Seperti sifat sifat, tampilan fisik, dan hal hal lain

yang kemudian dituliskan secara lebih spesifik lagi.

C. Ciri - Ciri Descriptive Text

2. Menggunakan simple present tense

3. Hanya berfokus pada satu obyek saja

4. Menggunakan banyak adjective atau kata sifat serta penggunaan kalimat

yang lebih rinci untuk penggambaran suatu obyek.

D. Unsur-Unsur Descriptive Text

1. Noun

Menggunakan kata benda principle spesifik, seperti misalnya my cat,

my swain, monument, Selain itu, sering juga menggunakan adjective (kata

sifat) untuk memperjelas penggunaan noun atau kata benda, seperti a giant

house, a sensible student, associate degree independence lady.

2. Simple Tense

Menggunakan kata kerja dasar atau bentuk pertama (verb 1) serta

menggunakan kata kerja principle dapat menunjukkan kepemilikan atau

keadaan sebuah objek. Descriptive text menggunakan easy tense karena

descriptive text menceritakan sebuah fakta Iranian language objek principle

dideskripsikan. Misalnya My workplace has twenty two floors, Azka is

pretty, dan lain-lain.

3. Action Verbs

Menggunakan kata kerja principle menunjukkan sebuah kegiatan

atau sebuah aktifitas principle bisa dilihat. Misalnya, sleep, walk, sing,

dance, dan lain-lain.

4. Figurative Language
 Menggunakan bahasa Indonesia principle figurative atau

menggambarkan sesuatu, biasanya menggunakan sebuah metafora untuk

memberikan ilustrasi kepada pembaca. Misalnya: My love for you is as

massive because the ocean. – Cintaku padamu seluas lautan. Her skin is as

white because of the snow – Kulitnya seputih salju.

The Prambanan Hinduism Temple

Prambanan is a stunningly beautiful building which was built in the

10th century during the supremacy of king Rakai Pikatan balitung. Risen as

high as 47 feet (5 meters higher than Borobudur Buddhist temple),the

foundation of this temple has answered the expectation, to show Hindu

triumph in Java island. (IDENTIFICATION)

This temple is placed 17 kilometers from the central of the city, in

the middle of the area that becomes a beautiful park now. There is a common

belief that Javanese people always tell about this temple to their descent.

Prambanan temple has three core temples in the primary yard, which are

named as Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva. The third temple represents Trimurti

in Hindu belief. All those three temples are facing east. Each of three main

temples has an accompanying temple facing to the west. They are Nandini

temple for Shiva, Swan temple for Brahma, and Garuda temple for Vishnu.

Moreover, there are some other temples around. They are two temples
 wedge, four of the temple curtain, and 4 temples in each edge. The second

Lionel Andrés “Leo” Messi Cuccittini is an Argentine professional

footballer who plays for Spanish club FC Barcelona and the Argentina

national team as a second striker. He is also the captain of his national team.

He is considered as the most popular footballer in the world in this era.

Messi was Born on June 24, 1987 in Rosario, Argentina. He is 1.70

m tall and he is 60 kg weight footballer. He has a fabulous career in football

because he has a fabulous skill as a footballer. His salary is nearly 20 million

EUR for a football season. (DESCRIPTION)

Often considered as the best player in the world and rated by some

sport journalists as the greatest footballer of all time, Messi is the first

footballer in history to win four FIFA/Ballons d’Or and the first to win three

European Golden Shoe awards. With his team, FC Barcelona, Messi has

won some trophies such as La Liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de España,

UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cups, and UEFA Super Cups.

Champions League seasons, and also awarded a record for the most hat-

tricks scorer in this competition. His playing style and stature have drawn

PENUTUP

A. Kesimpulan

Descriptive Text adalah text yang dibuat untuk mendeskripsikan

atau menggambarkan sesuatu secara terperinci. Obyek yang digunakan bisa

bermacam macam, seperti hewan, manusia, tumbuhan, dan hal hal lainnya.

Struktur umum descriptive text pertama adalah Identification, kedua adalah

Description. Ciri - Ciri Descriptive Text yaitu pertama pada verb yang

digunakan adalah attribute verb, seperti be ( am, is, are ), menggunakan

simple present tense, hanya berfokus pada satu obyek saja, menggunakan

banyak adjective atau kata sifat serta penggunaan kalimat yang lebih rinci

untuk penggambaran suatu obyek. Unsur-unsur descriptive text ada 4 yaitu

noun, simple tense, action verbs, figurative language.
