FIRE INSTRUCTIONS
Most workplaces provide fire training for a certain number of employees. An untrained
person should not try to put out a serious fire.
When there is a fire, most people are frightened. Workers must know what they should do, if
there is a fire. Most workplaces have written fire instructions. These instructions should be on
the wall beside the fire extinguishers and fire exits. Here are fire instructions to remember.

English Command is an expression to ask or to get something done by other people. Command
has two patterns, they are Verbal Command and Nominal Command.
VERBAL COMMAND
place a bare infinitive at the beginning of the sentence!

USAGE: Prohibition is an expression to warn other people not to do something. Or to forbide.
Like in Command expression, Prohibition also has two patterns, they are Verbal Prohibition and
Nominal Prohibition.

When we would like to emphasize something forbidden to do, we can change the main element
of prohibition structure by using Never.

Beside the pattern above, we can also use this follows pattern!

This follows is included both prohibition and command although there is no an exact pattern in it

How To Use These Phrases In Your English
1. Phrases 1 - 10 are all followed by indirect questions. So 'What's the time?' becomes 'Can

2. Phrase 2 is a little more formal and polite than phrase 1.
3. Phrases 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are polite and are good to use if you are asking a stranger or
you are asking at a public information desk.
4. Phrase 4 is more informal.
5. Phrases 5 and 7 are more informal if you say them with out the part in () brackets.
