Procedure Text
“What is procedure text? Procedure text is a text that explains, informs, or
helps the reader on how to make or use something.” Dalam bahasa Indonesia,
definisi procedure text adalah teks yang memberikan instruksi,
menginformasikan, atau membantu pembaca tentang bagaimana cara untuk
membuat atau melakukan sesuatu.
Biasanya, jenis teks ini diawali dengan frasa “How to…”, misalnya “How to
make a cup of tea” atau “How to operate an oven”. Procedure text banyak
terdapat di buku resep masakan dan buku petunjuk (manual book).
Purpose Of Procedure Text
“The purpose of procedure text is to show how something is made/used/done
through sequence of steps.” Jika diartikan dalam bahasa Indonesia, tujuan
procedure text adalah untuk menjelaskan bagaimana sesuatu dibuat,
dilakukan atau digunakan melalui langkah-langkah yang berurutan.
Dengan kata lain, procedure text digunakan untuk menguraikan satu per satu
bagaimana sesuatu dapat dibuat atau dicapai. Melalui procedure text, kalian
akan lebih mudah dalam memahami dan membaca petunjuk cara melakukan
sesuatu dengan urutan yang benar.

Goal merupakan struktur teks Materials merupakan Struktur teks prosedur

Procedure text harus ditulis dengan
menggunakan Simple Present Tense, Hal Imperative sentence selalu diawali oleh

Kata penghubung (connectives) digunakan Kata Keterangan (Adverb) digunakan untuk
dalam sebuah procedure text untuk memberikan keterangan waktu. Ada 2 jenis
menghubungkan langkah-langkah di kata keterangan atau adverbs yang
dalamnya supaya daftar instruksi yang digunakan dalam procedure text, yaitu:.

How to Washed the Clothes
Washing clothes is an essential household task that keeps our garments clean, fresh, and in good
condition. Clean clothes not only enhance our appearance but also contribute to good hygiene and
health. Before starting the laundry process, it's important to gather the necessary supplies such as
detergent, fabric softener, and a laundry basket. Separating clothes by color and fabric type helps prevent
damage and color bleeding. Here are steps in washing clothes properly.
1. First, put the the colored and the white clothes in the different sinks.
2. Second, the white clothes in the washing machine.
3. Turn the machine on, set it to the wash selection and pour the detergent powder in.
4. Then, wait for the tub to be filled with water.
5. After the process of washing has finished, let the clothes drain through the drain hose.
6. Next, see the knob of the wash timer again, this time to rinse for three minutes. Do this twice for a good
rinsing.
7. Finally, put the wet clothes into the spin compartment, set the knob and wait until the spin processing
shuts off.
8. Take all the washed clothes.
9. Repeat the steps do the same thing with the colored clothes
