Remove or decline sponsorships from others #211990

Hi @Gramps, Good question! I checked the GitHub Sponsors documentation, and there are a few related options, depending on what you're trying to achieve. 1. Retire a sponsorship tier
This prevents new sponsors from choosing that tier, but existing sponsors remain on it until they change or cancel their sponsorship. 2. Unpublish your Sponsors profile If you have no active sponsors, you can go to Dashboard → Settings → Unpublish your GitHub Sponsors profile. If you already have sponsors, you'll need to contact GitHub Support. 3. Disable GitHub Sponsors If you want to leave the program entirely, you can disable your account. If you're currently receiving sponsorship payments, GitHub Support must assist with this. Documentation:
However, I couldn't find a documented option that allows maintainers to individually decline or remove a specific sponsor while keeping their Sponsors profile active. It would be useful if GitHub introduced a feature to accept, decline, or block individual sponsorships without having to disable the entire Sponsors profile. Hope this helps! |

You can do it by blocking that account. GitHub's blocking docs list "Their sponsorship of you is canceled" as one of the things that happens, and a blocked user can't sponsor you again. To block someone, go to Settings, then Moderation > Blocked users, search for the username and click Block user. You can also use "Block or report" on their profile. Keep in mind blocking does more than stop the sponsorship. They also can't comment on your issues and PRs, star or fork your repos, and so on. As far as I can tell there's no per-sponsor decline option in the Sponsors dashboard itself. |

Is there any mechanism to remove or decline sponsorships from others? I can't seem to find one on the sponsors page.
