If you’ve forgotten your GitHub password, you can easily reset it. First, go to the GitHub login page at https://github.com/login and click on the "Forgot password?" link located just below the login form. You’ll then be prompted to enter the email address or username associated with your GitHub account. After submitting, GitHub will send a password reset link to your email. Open your inbox, find the email titled "Reset your GitHub password", and click the link inside. This will take you to a secure page where you can enter and confirm a new password. Once you’ve chosen a strong new password, click "Change password" to complete the process and regain access to your account. If you don’t receive the email, be sure to check your spam or junk folders. Additionally, if you use two-factor authentication (2FA), you’ll still need to complete that step after resetting your password. |

Hi! I’m Daniel Cresino, a student currently learning more about GitHub and helping out in the community where I can. I came across your question and wanted to share a quick and simple answer based on what I’ve learned. To reset your GitHub password: Go to the GitHub Sign In page. Click “Forgot password?” under the login form. Enter the email address connected to your GitHub account. GitHub will send you a password reset email. Open the email, click the link, and follow the steps to create a new password. If the email doesn’t show up right away, check your spam or junk folder. Also, if you signed up using Google or Apple, you might need to reset your password through their platform instead. Hope this helps! |
