A merge conflict usually happens when the same section of a file has been modified in both branches. Git cannot automatically decide which changes should be kept, so you need to resolve them manually. In your case, open
Review both versions and combine or keep the correct code. Once you've resolved the conflict, remove all the conflict markers and save the file. Then run: git add loan_calculator.py
git commit -m "Resolve merge conflict in loan calculator"You can verify that everything is resolved by running: git statusIt's also a good idea to test the loan calculator before pushing the merged changes to the remote repository. This is especially important when working on financial projects, where calculation accuracy matters. Hello Everyone! I am working on a project regarding home loans. However, I am encountering a Merge Conflict error when I try to merge my feature branch to the main branch.
git checkout main
git pull origin main
git merge feature-loan-calculator
The error I am getting is:
Auto-merging loan_calculator.py
CONFLICT (content): Merge conflict in loan_calculator.py
Automatic merge failed; fix conflicts and then commit the result.
How do I fix this issue?
