FUTUR SIMPLE
o The simple future is used to express something – whether an idea, a state, or
an action– that will happen in a future time. The future simple is used in
more formal context. It is often used for events in the more distant future.
o The French simple future tense is generally translated into English with the
model auxiliary 'will, e.g, will buy, will travel, will speak.
o While in French language, Futur Simple is a just one single word without
an auxiliary.
THE FUTUR SIMPLE ENDINGS ARE =
“ai, as, a, a, ons, ez, ont, ont”
HOW TO FORM FUTUR SIMPLE:-
v For “ER” & “IR” Verbs: To form the future tense in French, we add
the above future endings to the infinitive of the verb. (Be careful: The
infinitive is itself the stem here.)
v Note that the future endings look very much like the verb “Avoir” in the
Present Tense. It’s a good way to remember them.
Parler To speak

v For “RE” Verbs: For –RE verbs, remove “E” from the infinitive, then
add the future endings. In all cases, the future stem ends in -r.

PRONOMINAL (REFLEXIVE VERBS) IN THE FUTURE TENSE
NOTE:
1. The future tense of reflexive verbs is formed in just the same way as for
ordinary verbs, except that you have to remember to give the reflexive
pronoun (me, te, se, nous, vous, se).
2. me changes to m’, te to t’ and se to s’ before a vowel, most words starting
with h and the French word y.
