Construction d’une phrase
3 types de phrases :

En anglais, pour former une phrase affirmative,
→ on place d’abord le sujet, puis le verbe et enfin le complément.
En anglais, le verbe s’accorde en nombre mais pas en genre.
->le sujet peut être un prénom, un pronom personnel, un nom précédé d’un
déterminant.
→ Le complément se retrouve généralement placé après le verbe. Le
complément peut être un complément d’objet direct (COD) ou un complément
d’objet indirect (COI).

pour les phrases interrogatives :
→ Auxiliaire ou verbe modal + sujet + verbe + complément.
Il est également possible de mettre un pronom interrogatif en début de phrase
comme what, where, how, who, why, which, ou when.
Rappel : les auxiliaires en anglais sont les verbes to be, to have et to do. Les
modaux peuvent être des mots comme can, must, shall, should, will, etc.
Si utilisation d’un pronom interrogatif : mot interrogatif + auxiliaire ou
modal + sujet + verbe + complément.
What can I do for you ? → Que puis-je faire pour vous ?
How was your day ? → Comment s’est passé ta journée ?
Where are you ? → Où es-tu ?
Have you eaten yet ? → Est-ce que tu as déjà mangé ?
Have you got a pencil ? → As-tu un crayon ?
Pour former une phrase négative :
Pour construire une phrase négative en anglais, on forme la phrase comme
suit : Sujet + auxiliaire ou modal + not + verbe + complément.
A noter que not est très souvent contracté en anglais et forme généralement
don’t (do not), didn’t (did not) ou haven’t (have not)
I do not have a license. → I don’t have a license. → Je n’ai pas le permis.
I could not come to your birthday party. →I couldn’t come to your
birthday party.→ je ne pouvais pas venir à ton anniversaire.
Don’t permet également d’exprimer une interdiction.
Don’t smoke indoors ! → Ne fumez pas à l’intérieur !
Je mange une fraise → I eat a strawberry.
Que faites vous ? → What are you doing ?
Ne fais pas ça. → Don’t do it/this-that
