Le shadowing en pratique
Le shadowing consiste à écouter un texte lu par un locuteur natif et à le répéter en même temps, comme une
ombre, en imitant le rythme, l'intonation et la prononciation le plus fidèlement possible. (Shadowing: listening to
a native speaker and repeating at the same time, copying rhythm, intonation and pronunciation.)

Protocole en 4 étapes (à utiliser en cours en ligne)

1. Écoute passive — L'élève écoute le texte une première fois sans parler, en suivant des yeux.
2. Écoute active + repérage — On identifie ensemble liaisons, accents et le point de prononciation ciblé (encadré
« Focus »).
3. Shadowing synchronisé — L'élève répète en même temps que l'audio, phrase par phrase puis en entier.
4. Enregistrement et auto-correction — L'élève s'enregistre, se réécoute et compare avec l'original.

Comment utiliser ce guide

Ce guide contient 16 textes B1 (monologues et dialogues), sur des thèmes généralistes de la vie quotidienne.
Chaque fiche suit la même structure : Focus prononciation (le son à annoncer avant l'écoute) → Texte /
Dialogue (support de shadowing) → Question de compréhension (vérifier le sens) → Devoir à la maison
(consigne pour la semaine).

Devoir hebdomadaire type : répéter le texte du jour 5 min/jour, 4 jours dans la semaine ; s'enregistrer une fois en
fin de semaine et s'auto-évaluer avec la grille en dernière page ; envoyer l'enregistrement au tuteur si demandé.

Enchaînez les mots sans marquer de pause : « wake_up », « get_out », « take_a ». Le schwa (comme
dans « a », « the », « of ») doit rester très court et relâché.

Every morning, I wake up around half past six. First, I check my phone for messages, then I get
out of bed and open the curtains. I usually take a quick shower and get dressed before breakfast.
I like to eat something simple, like toast with jam or a bowl of cereal. After that, I brush my teeth
and grab my bag. If I have time, I walk to work, but if I'm late, I take the bus instead. By the time I
arrive, I already feel ready for the day.

Nowadays, technology is everywhere, and I think it has changed the way we live and think. I use

paying for things. Although some people think technology makes us less social, I believe it
actually helps us stay in touch with those we love. Of course, there are challenges too, like the
time we spend scrolling through our screens. Still, I think the benefits are worth it, as long as we
use technology wisely and thoughtfully.

Sometimes, I feel really excited about my studies and my future career. Other days, I admit I feel
a bit anxious, especially before exams or important lessons. When I feel stressed, I try to take a
deep breath and remind myself why I started this journey. I'm also incredibly proud when one of
my students makes real progress in English. Feeling nervous is completely normal, and I've
learned that it's okay to accept these emotions instead of hiding them. In the end, I believe
emotional honesty makes us stronger, not weaker.
