1. L'Identité
Question : What is your name? (Comment t'appelles-tu ?)
Équivalent : Who are you? / Can you tell me your name?
Réponse : My name is [Ton Nom]. (Mon nom est...)
Traduction : Je m'appelle [Nom].
2. Le Père
Question : What is your father's name? (Comment s'appelle ton père ?)
Équivalent : Who’s your father? / How is your father called?
Réponse : His name is [Nom de ton père]. (Son nom est...)
Traduction : Il s'appelle [Nom].
3. Le Métier de la Mère
Question : What's your mother's job? (Quel est le métier de ta mère ?)
Équivalent : What does your mother do? / What is your mother's occupation?
Réponse : She is a [Métier]. (Elle est [Métier].)
Traduction : Elle est [commerçante / ménagère / etc.].
4. L'Origine
Question : Where do you come from? (D'où viens-tu ?)
Équivalent : What is your nationality? / Where are you from?
Réponse : I come from Ivory Coast. (Je viens de Côte d'Ivoire.)
Traduction : Je viens de [Pays].
5. Le Sujet du Texte
Question : What's the text about? (De quoi parle le texte ?)
Équivalent : What is the main idea of the text? / What is the topic?
Réponse : The text deals with [Sujet]. (Le texte traite de...)
Traduction : Le texte parle de [Sujet].
6. L'Âge
Question : How old are you? (Quel âge as-tu ?)
Équivalent : What is your age?
Réponse : I am [Âge] years old. (J'ai [Âge] ans.)
o Note : Attention, en anglais on utilise "I am" (Je suis) et non "I have" pour
l'âge.
Traduction : J'ai [Âge] ans.

7. Le Lieu de résidence
Question : Where do you live? (Où habites-tu ?)
Équivalent : What's your address?
Réponse : I live in [Quartier/Ville]. (J'habite à...)
Traduction : J'habite à [Lieu].
8. Description d'image
Question : What can you see on the picture? (Que vois-tu sur l'image ?)
Équivalent : Describe the picture. / What is happening in this document?
Réponse :On the picture,I can see people and houses. (Je peux voir des gens et des
maisons.)
Traduction : Sur l'image, je vois...
9. L'Ambition
Question : What's your ambition? (Quelle est ton ambition ?)
Équivalent : What do you want to be in the future? / What is your dream job?
Réponse : I want to be an engineer. (Je veux être ingénieur.)
Traduction : Mon ambition est d'être [Métier].
Conseil d'ami : Si tu ne comprends pas une question demain, dis simplement : "Can you
rephrase, please?" (Pouvez-vous reformuler, s'il vous plaît ?)
1. Pour donner une raison (Le plus important)
C’est ce que tu utiliseras le plus après avoir donné une opinion.
Because… : Parce que…
Ex : I like English because it is useful.
That’s why… : C’est pourquoi… / C’est pour cela que…
Ex : I want to travel, that’s why I learn English.
Since / As… : Puisque / Comme…
Ex : Since I love kids, I want to be a teacher.
2. Pour donner son opinion
In my opinion… : À mon avis…
To my mind… : Selon moi…
I believe that… : Je crois que / Je pense que…
From my point of view… : De mon point de vue…
3. Pour ajouter une information ou un exemple
For example… / For instance… : Par exemple…

Such as… : Tel que…
Ex : I like sports such as football and tennis.
4. Pour exprimer un but (Ton ambition)
In order to… : Afin de / Pour…
Ex : I study hard in order to pass my exam.
So that… : De sorte que / Pour que…
Nombres Ordinaux
(Puisque tu en avais besoin pour les dates ou les classements, voici les plus importants pour
demain) :
1st : First (Premier)
2nd : Second (Second/Deuxième)
3rd : Third (Troisième)
4th : Fourth (Quatrième)
… (ensuite, on ajoute souvent -th à la fin)
20th : Twentieth (Vingtième)
21st : Twenty-first (Vingt-et-unième)
30th : Thirtieth (Trentième)
Conseil pour demain : Si tu justifies une réponse, essaie d’utiliser « In my opinion… » suivi
de « because… ». C’est la structure qui rapporte le plus de points facilement !
