HALITA
COMPOSICIÓN : Está compuesta por cristales de cloruro de sodio.
• COLOR: Normalmente blanca e incolora, aunque al mezclarse con
impurezas puede tomar otros colores.
• BRILLO:  Vítreo algo mate.
• DUREZA:2,5
• EXFOLIACIÓN O FRACTURA : Perfecta según las caras del cubo ;
fractura concoidea
• YACIMIENTOS: La halita está muy diseminada en todo el mundo; en
Europa hay yacimientos en Cheshire (Inglaterra), en Stassfurt y
Sperenberg (Alemania), Wieliczka y Kaluez en Galitzia, Chiquinquira
(Boyacá-Colombia) entre otros .
• UTILIDAD PARA EL HOMBRE :
• En la industria alimentaria, como condimento y conservante.
• En la industria química en el procesado de la sosa, del bicarbonato sódico,
del ácido clorhídrico, del sodio metálico, etc.
• En tecnología por ser conductora de radiaciones infrarrojas.
• En otras industrias como la textil, maderera y curtido de piel.
• Para eliminar el hielo y la nieve de las carreteras; etc.
HALITE
• COMPOSITION: It is composed by crystals of chloride of sodium.

DIAMANTE
• COMPOSICIÓN: Su mayoría están compuestos por carbono y sus átomos
están estructurados en forma de red con tres dimensiones
• COLOR: Normalmente amarillo claro o incoloro, también tonalidades
claras azules, verdes, naranjas, rosas, marrones (negro para la variedad
Carbonado).
• BRILLO: Brillo muy vivo, intermedio entre el brillo del acero muy pulido y
el del cristal, destacándose en las gemas incoloras y puras.
• DUREZA : 10
• EXFOLIACIÓN O FRACTURA: Presenta cuatro direcciones de
exfoliación, según la cara del octaedro.
• YACIMIENTOS :India, Namibia ,Sierra Leona , Brasil, Colombia
,Venezuela ,México , Perú ,Australia , Estados Unidos ,Ghana y Sudáfrica.
• UTILIDAD PARA EL HOMBRE: en el campo de la (serrar, pulir, agujerear
rocas, hormigón y materiales pétreos) , en la medicina (pequeñas
herramientas para odontología, cirugía,...) y también de manera estética
(collares ,pulseras ,relojes …), sobretodo a partir de la fabricación del
diamante sintético con características idénticas al natural.
DIAMOND
• COMPOSITION: His majority they are composed by carbon and his

• EXFOLIACIÓN O FRACTURA: Exfoliación no tiene y de fractura es
concoidea y muy frágil.
• YACIMIENTOS: El cuarzo de diferentes tipos es muy común en
muchos yacimientos alrededor del mundo, solo por mencionar algunos
tenemos Brasil, Madagascar, Estados Unidos, España, Suiza, Italia,
Alemania, Austria y Colombia donde se extraen muy buenos ejemplares
asociados a la explotación de esmeraldas. Es posible encontrarlo en
todos los continentes en alguna de sus formas.
• UTILIDAD PARA EL HOMBRE: Es muy importante en la elaboración
del "Cristal de Cuarzo", de grandes placas para la radiotecnia y en la
fabricación del vidrio. El cuarzo macrocristalino se emplea en
numerosos aparatos de óptica.
QUARTHZ
• COMPOSITION: Compound of silica
• COLOR: White, transparent. According to variation also it can be

PIRITA
• COMPOSICIÓN : Contiene el 46.4% de Fe y el 53.6% de Azufre
• COLOR: Gris, amarillo latón.
• BRILLO : Metálico intenso.
• DUREZA: 6 - 6.5
• EXFOLIACIÓN O FRACTURA : Imperfecta . Fractura de la Pirita Concoidea,
desigual, frágil
• YACIMIENTOS : Los principales yacimientos de Pirita lo podemos ubicar en Perú,
Bolivia, Estados Unidos, México, Rumania y España. En Colombia podemos encontrar
la Pirita en todos sus hábitos cristalinos pero las mejores cristalizaciones no son tan
comunes.
• UTILIDAD PARA EL HOMBRE : La Pirita además de ser apetecida en la joyería,
bisutería y coleccionismo; es frecuente su uso en el sector químico industrial en la
obtención de ácido sulfúrico, polvo de pulir, colores rojos y marrones y como mena
de hierro, dado el alto contenido de sulfuro de este mineral.
• En el campo esotérico la Pirita es denominada la piedra de la casa, por tanto, se
considera que aporta paz y bienestar en el hogar. Se recomienda para negocios,
estudios y poderes de la comunicación; así mismo, ya que se le atribuye gran fuerza
protectora se considera la indicada para desviar energías negativas. Se dice que
ayuda a descubrir talentos ocultos y a superar problemas intelectuales en el
trabajo.
PYRITE
• COMPOSITION: It contains 46.4 % of Faith and 53.6 % of Sulphur
• COLOR: Gray, yellow brass.
• BRIGHTNESS: Intense Metal-worker.
• HARDNESS: 6 - 6.5
• EXFOLIATION OR FRACTURE : Imperfect. The fracture of the Pyrite is
concoidea, unequal, fragile
• DEPOSITS : The principal deposits of Pyrite it can be located in Peru,
Bolivia, The United States, Mexico, Romania and Spain. In Colombia we can
find the Pyrite in all his crystalline habits but the best crystallizations are
not so common.
• USEFULNESS FOR THE MAN : The Pyrite beside being desired in the
jeweler's shop, trinkets and collecting; his use is frequent in the chemical
industrial sector in the obtaining of sulphuric acid, powder of polish, red and
brown colors and as ore of iron, in view of the high place contained of sulphur of
this mineral. In the esoteric field the Pyrite is named the stone of the house,
therefore, it thinks that it contributes peace and well-being in the home. It is

AXINITA
• COMPOSICIÓN:(Ca,Fe,Mn)3Al2BO3Si4O12OH o Ca2(Fe,Mn)Al2BSi4O15(OH)
• COLOR: Marrón rojizo a amarillo o incoloro
• BRILLO: Vítreo
• DUREZA:6-7,5
• EXFOLIACIÓN O FRACTURA: Exfoliación buena en {100} ;fractura
concoidea
• YACIMIENTOS:
• Se ha encontrado con cierta abundancia en Montmany (Barcelona).
• Al sur de la provincia de Toledo con turmalina y magnetita.
• En la provincia de Málaga en Carratraca,

• UTILIDAD PARA EL HOMBRE: Aunque la axinita no se emplea


en bisutería, como cuando está labrada se asemeja a ciertas variedades
de espinela, se puede llegar a considerar una piedra preciosa.
AXINITE
• COMPOSITION: (Ca, Faith, Mn) 3Al2BO3Si4O12OH or Ca2
(Faith, Mn) Al2BSi4O15 (OH) .
• COLOR: reddish Quoit to yellow or colorless .
• BRIGHTNESS: Vitreous.
• HARDNESS:6-7,5 .
• EXFOLIATION OR FRACTURE: Good exfoliation at {100}; it has
concoidea fracture
• DEPOSITS: It has met certain abundance in Montmany

todo el mundo, pero los depósitos más importantes se encuentran
en Tsumeb, Namibia; Chessy , Francia; y Bisbee, Arizona, EE. UU.
• UTILIDAD PARA EL HOMBRE: Se usa como piedra ornamental,
en joyería y para coleccionismo. Antiguamente la Azurita se molía
para usarla como pigmento azul, pero ya no se usa debido a que
con el tiempo se convierte en malaquita y se vuelve verde
AZURITE

• YACIMIENTOS : Se localiza en cantidades importantes en
Pensilvania , Arizona y California(Estados Unidos),en
Tirol(Austria),Lombardía(Italia),etc . En la península Ibérica es
común en muchos sitios , con cantidades importantes en yacimientos
de talco de la serranía de talco de la serranía de ronda(Málaga),y en
la sierra de Guadarrama(Madrid)
• UTILIDAD PARA EL HOMBRE:Ninguno conocido.
KÄMMERERITE

 CHRYSOCOLLA

• COMPOSICIÓN:Su fórmula química es SrSO4

• EXFOLIACIÓN O FRACTURA: Exfoliación perfecta y buena ;
fractura irregular
• YACIMIENTOS: Fue descubierta en 1781 ,en Sicilia por el geólogo
francés Dolomieu. Se encuentra como constituyente principal de
bancos calizos y areniscas; o, como mineral típicamente hidrotermal
rellenando grietas y cavidades de rocas volcánicas. 
• UTILIDAD PARA EL HOMBRE:Se usa en la preparación de nitrato de
estroncio para fuegos artificiales, balas trazadoras y otras sales de
estroncio empleadas en el refinado de azúcar de remolacha. También
se usa en la industria de la energía nuclear.
CELESTINE
• COMPOSITION: Its chemical formula is SrSO4
• COLOR: Colorless, white, gray and less frequently, blue, green and
orange.
• BRIGHTNESS: Vitreous
• HARDNESS: 3 - 3,5
• EXFOLIATION OR FRACTURE: perfect and good Exfoliation;
irregular fracture
• DEPOSITS: It was discovered in 1781, in Sicily for the French

CIANITA
• COMPOSICIÓN : Silicato de Aluminio Al2SiO5
• COLOR: Azul. También verde, blanco, gris y negro.
• BRILLO: Vítreo perlado
• DUREZA: Su dureza es variable , 4.5/6.5
• EXFOLIACIÓN O FRACTURA: Frágil e irregular
• YACIMIENTOS :Están distribuidos ampliamente pero de manera
escasa en rocas metamórficas, en depósitos pluviales; algunas de las
fuentes son Brasil, Estados Unidos, Suiza, Rusia, India, Zimbabwe,
Madagascar y Kenia.
• UTILIDAD PARA EL HOMBRE : Se usa principalmente en productos
refractarios y cerámicos, incluyendo porcelana. En la fabricación de
útiles de electricidad. La cianita se usa también como piedra
preciosa gracias a su anisotropía, que la dota de brillo (al pulirse). Es
importante también para los recolectores de minerales, ya que
debido a su escasez es muy ansiada por estos.
CYANITE
• COMPOSITION: Silicate of Aluminium Al2SiO5
• COLOR: Blue. Also green, white, grey and black.
• BRIGHTNESS: Pearly vitreous
• HARDNESS: His hardness is variable, a 4.5/6.5
• EXFOLIATION OR FRACTURE: Fragile and irregular
