SUPERFICIES CUADRÁTICAS
Una superficie cuadrática en ℝ3 es el conjunto de puntos 𝑃 𝑥, 𝑦, 𝑧 que
satisfacen una ecuación de la forma:

SUPERFICIES CUADRÁTICAS
Luego, mediante un proceso de rotación de ejes principales, conocido del
álgebra lineal, se puede obtener una ecuación equivalente de la superficie de
la forma:

SUPERFICIES CILÍNDRICAS
Sea 𝐶 una curva contenida en un plano 𝜋 y sea 𝐿 una recta secante a 𝜋. Se
define la superficie cilíndrica o simplemente cilindro, con curva directriz 𝐶 y
recta generatriz 𝐿, a la unión de todas las rectas paralelas a 𝐿 y que
intersecan a 𝐶.
