INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Spanish Grade 9 Self-Directed Module on Forma de Cocinar el Plato.
This Module was designed to allow you to become a self-reliant individual when a face-
to-face session is not possible. This will guide and teach you how to identify the different
methods of cooking a dish in Spanish and describe the process of cooking our native dish.
This module is carefully crafted according to your learning level which contains a
package of study material for use by an individual learner. Furthermore, this will develop your
verbal and written skills and help you become an independent learner.
The following are some reminders in using this module:
1. Use the module in answering the exercises.
2. Don’t forget to answer What I Know before moving on to the other activities included in the
module.
3. Read the instruction carefully before doing each task.
4. Observe honesty and integrity in doing the tasks and checking your answers.
5. Finish the task at hand before proceeding to the next.
6. Return this module to your teacher/facilitator once you are through with it.
If you encounter any difficulty in answering the tasks in this module, do not hesitate to

Qué es Nuevo/What is New
¿Quién no ha escuchado alguna vez que en España se come de lujo?
Pues sí, así es. En España la comida es una de las protagonistas ya que la
gran parte de los platos típicos no defraudan al paladar ni tampoco al
estómago. Por eso, si vienes a Valencia a estudiar español y vas a comer
durante un tiempo comida riquísima, queremos que aprendas a cocinar
estas recetas tradicionales para poder hacerla en cualquier lugar, incluso
en tu país.
Porque como decimos en España, comer es un placer.

2. Algunas formas de cocinarse un plato son:

➢ COCIDO : se necesita agua.
➢ AL HORNO : se necesita un horno.
➢ A LA ROMANA: el alimento se pasa por huevo y harina.
➢ EMPANADO: el alimento se pasa por huevo y pan rallado.
➢ REVUELTO: el alimento se fríe mezclado con huevo.
