Usages
- Para hablar de acciones que están sucediendo en el momento
en que estamos hablando.
Ejemplos:
“Right now, I’m thinking about when I get home… I’m so tired…” =
En este momento estoy pensando en cuando llegue a casa… Estoy
tan cansado…

La afirmación
Usamos un sujeto + un verb to be que corresponda al
sujeto + un verbo en su forma en gerundio. Para todas las
personas es igual.
Un gerundio es en español un verbo terminado en -ando,
-endo. Algunos ejemplos son “cocinando”, “escribiendo”.

Gerunds
Los gerundios en inglés terminan todos en -ing. en general agregamos
este al final. Cuando el verbo termina en -e, se la quitamos y le ponemos
-ing. Cuando el verbo termina en consonante + vocal + consonante,
agregamos una igual a la última y luego -ing. Ejemplos: Run > running.
Study > studying. Walk > walking.

La negación
Usamos un sujeto + verb to be en negativo + gerundio.
Podemos obviamente optar por usar la forma larga o las
contracciones del verb to be en negativo (am + not > ‘m not,
are + not > aren’t, is + not > isn’t).

La pregunta
Usamos verb to be al comienzo, luego el sujeto y por último el
gerundio. Para responder, usamos las short answers del verb
to be. Es decir:
Yes, + sujeto + verb to be
No, + sujeto + verb to be en negativo
Ejemplos
• She is going to school at the moment, it’s 12:30 pm!
• We are not going to the party at the moment, we are studying!
• They are running at the park, I can see them!
• Are you doing something important or you can help me? Oh, yes I can!
• You are cooking very well! You are very organized!
• Are you making fun of me? No! I’m not!
• I’m not following… talk slower please…
