Present simple: affirmative form
The affirmative form of the present simple tense in English is constructed with the
subject followed by the infinitive verb without "to": "I work".
The third person singular ("he", "she" or "it") adds an "-s" at the end: "she works".
The order of the affirmative structure in the simple present tense is: subject + verb.
For example: To do: “She does her homework every day”. (Ella hace los deberes todos los
días)
To play: “They play basketball every week”. (Ellos juegan al baloncesto todas las semanas)
To tidy: “The children tidy up their room before dinner”. (Los niños ordenan su habitación
antes de cenar)
To work: “I work in a laboratory”. (Yo trabajo en un laboratorio)
Formación de la 3.ª persona de singular del presente simple en inglésLa tercera persona de singular
del presente simple (“he”, “she” o “it”) se forma añadiendo una “-s” al final:
To talk: he/she/it talks
To work: he/she/it works
Los verbos que terminan en “-s”, “-x”, “-sh” o “-ch” añaden “-es”:
To catch: he/she/it catches
To fix: he/she/it fixes

To wish: he/she/it wishes
Los verbos que terminan en “-y”, cambian la “y” por “i” y añaden “-es”:
