Verbos en inglés (Conjugación y uso)
Present Simple (Presente Simple):
o Usamos el verbo en su forma base (sin "to") para hablar de acciones
habituales o hechos generales.
o Ejemplo: I play soccer (Yo juego al fútbol).
o Formas negativas: do not (don't) / does not (doesn't) + verbo base.
o Ejemplo: She doesn't like chocolate (A ella no le gusta el chocolate).
o Preguntas: Do/Does + sujeto + verbo base.
o Ejemplo: Do you like ice cream? (¿Te gusta el helado?)
Present Continuous (Presente Continuo):
o Usamos "am/are/is + verbo + ing" para hablar de acciones que están
ocurriendo ahora mismo.
o Ejemplo: I am studying (Estoy estudiando).
o Negativa: am/are/is + not + verbo + ing.
o Ejemplo: She is not working (Ella no está trabajando).
Past Simple (Pasado Simple):
o Usamos verbos en su forma en pasado para hablar de acciones que ocurrieron
en el pasado.
o Ejemplo: I went to the park (Fui al parque).
o Formas negativas: did not (didn't) + verbo base.
o Ejemplo: They didn’t go to the party (No fueron a la fiesta).
Past Continuous (Pasado Continuo):
o Usamos was/were + verbo + ing para hablar de acciones que estaban en
progreso en un momento del pasado.
o Ejemplo: I was reading when the phone rang (Estaba leyendo cuando sonó el
teléfono).
Present Perfect (Presente Perfecto):
o Usamos have/has + verbo en participio (third form) para hablar de acciones
que ocurrieron en un tiempo no específico antes del presente.
o Ejemplo: I have seen that movie (He visto esa película).
o Preguntas: Have/Has + sujeto + verbo en participio.
o Ejemplo: Have you eaten breakfast? (¿Has desayunado?)
2. Uso de Preposiciones
Preposiciones de lugar:
o In: Se usa para lugares cerrados o áreas grandes (países, ciudades, edificios).
Ejemplo: I live in New York (Vivo en Nueva York).
o At: Se usa para ubicaciones específicas (direcciones, lugares de trabajo, lugares
pequeños).
Ejemplo: I am at the bus stop (Estoy en la parada de autobús).
Preposiciones de tiempo:
o In: Para meses, años, siglos, partes del día.
Ejemplo: I was born in January (Nací en enero).
o On: Para días específicos y fechas.
Ejemplo: I will meet you on Monday (Te veré el lunes).
o At: Para horas, momentos específicos.
Ejemplo: The meeting is at 3 p.m. (La reunión es a las 3 p.m.).
3. Uso de "How Many" y "How Much"
How many: Se usa para sustantivos contables (cosas que puedes contar).
o Ejemplo: How many books do you have? (¿Cuántos libros tienes?)
How much: Se usa para sustantivos incontables (cosas que no se pueden contar
individualmente).
o Ejemplo: How much water do you drink? (¿Cuánta agua bebes?)
4. Comparativos y Superlativos
Comparativos: Comparamos dos cosas, generalmente usando "more" o "er" (para
adjetivos de una o dos sílabas).
o Ejemplo: My house is bigger than yours (Mi casa es más grande que la tuya).
Superlativos: Comparamos una cosa con el resto de un grupo, usando "most" o "est"
(para adjetivos de una o dos sílabas).
o Ejemplo: This is the tallest building (Este es el edificio más alto).
5. Imperativos
Usamos el verbo base para dar órdenes, instrucciones o sugerencias.
o Ejemplo: Close the door (Cierra la puerta).
o En negativo: Don't + verbo base.
o Ejemplo: Don't speak loudly (No hables en voz alta).
6. Adverbios de Frecuencia
Los adverbios de frecuencia indican cuán a menudo ocurre una acción.
o Ejemplos: always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, never.
o She always eats breakfast at 7 a.m. (Ella siempre desayuna a las 7 a.m.).
o I never go to bed late (Nunca me acuesto tarde).
7. Condicionales
Zero Conditional: Usamos "If + present simple, present simple" para hablar de
situaciones generales, hechos o leyes de la naturaleza.
o Ejemplo: If you heat water to 100°C, it boils (Si calientas el agua a 100°C,
hierve).
First Conditional: Usamos "If + present simple, will + verbo" para hablar de
situaciones reales y posibles en el futuro.
o Ejemplo: If it rains, I will stay home (Si llueve, me quedaré en casa).
8. WH Questions (Preguntas con palabras interrogativas)
Who: Para preguntar sobre personas.
o Ejemplo: Who is that? (¿Quién es ese?)
What: Para preguntar sobre cosas, acciones o información general.
o Ejemplo: What is your name? (¿Cuál es tu nombre?)
Where: Para preguntar sobre lugares.
o Ejemplo: Where do you live? (¿Dónde vives?)
When: Para preguntar sobre el tiempo.
o Ejemplo: When is your birthday? (¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?)
Why: Para preguntar sobre razones o motivos.
o Ejemplo: Why are you late? (¿Por qué llegaste tarde?)
9. Verbos Modales
Can: Para habilidad o posibilidad.
o Ejemplo: I can swim (Puedo nadar).
Must: Para obligaciones o necesidad.
o Ejemplo: You must study for the test (Debes estudiar para el examen).
Can't: Para negar habilidad o posibilidad.
o Ejemplo: She can't drive (Ella no puede conducir).
