NOTE- There is an accent on the word ‘Dónde’.
So, if we want to ask a friend where does he live, we say ¿dónde
vives? because we are speaking directly to him.
If we want to ask our friend where does his friend live, then we ask
¿dónde vive?- which means where does/ he or she live. We specify if

age-
¿Cuántos años tienes?- How old are you?
To which we respond- Yo tengo doce años. - I am 12 years old.
Now to ask about someone else’s age, we ask:
¿Cuántos años tiene el/ ella? - How old is he/ she?
We can specify who we are asking about by saying:
¿Cuántos años tiene tu amigo?- How old is your friend?
¿Cuántos años tiene Carlos?- How old is Carlos?
¿Cuántos años tiene tu madre?- How old is your mother?
¿Cuántos años tiene tu padre? - How is your father?
