How to use these cards: makes the matching easier to
manage.
1. Give students “Clock cards”. Call out times
orally and have students point to the More ideas on my blog:
correct time. [Link]
a. Alternatively: Students can cut the /25/teaching-vocab-with-picture-cards/
cards apart and hold up the correct
times.
2. With a partner: give partner 1 the “Clock
Cards” and the partner 2 the “Words”
card. Partner 2 calls out times in Spanish;
partner 1 points to the correct time.
Make it harder: give both partners the
“Clocks” card. Partner 2 has to generate
the time from memory.
3. Matching: Each student gets a “Words
Card” and a Clock card. Cut one or both
cards apart and have student match
numbers to words.
a. I like to give students the clock card

finished, I give them the words card
and have them do the matching.
Having students do the cutting saves
time for the teacher, and only cutting
one side (either numbers or words)
minimizes the time spent cutting and
