Note
1
. The surface of wall along which you want to detect
should be flat.
. If LCD starts blinking and beeping as error indication,
move the detector a few inches and start again.
. The stud detection can be performed normally on
wall-papered walls. However, it may not function on
some types of foil backed or metallic fabric surfaces.
. If by chance the detector is placed over a wall batten or
stud to start, the detector can not detect correctly.
. If there are two studs existing adjacently, the detector
may not detect accurately.
186. The detector may detect electrical wiring or pipes as
studs. Caution should always be used when nailing,
sawing, or drilling into walls, floors, and ceilings that
may contain these items, turn off the wires' power
beforehand to avoid electric shock or personal injury.
7. Keep your another hand away from the detector when
using this detector to avoid disturbance.

Note
1. Wires deeper than detection limit from surface, in
conduit, or behind plywood shearwall will not be
detected, Use caution under these circumstances.
2. Rubbing or banging the detector on the wall may
generate static electricity and cause a false indication.
21. Leakage Currents
Because of the extremely small current required to
cause alarm indications, apparent false indications
may appear in some situation, i.e. a conductor with
poor insulation touching a damp wall, the detector will
show a voltage on the wall. In this situation, the
detector is indicating a potential hazard which should
be checked with a voltmeter.
. Shielded wires or live wires in metal conduits, casings,
metal walls or thick, dense walls will not be detected.
. Use caution when nailing, cutting or drilling in walls,
ceiling and floors that may contain wiring or pipes near
the surface.
. When working near AC electrical wires, always turn off
the wires' power.
. Depending on the proximity of electrical wiring or pipes
to the wall surface, the detector may detect them in the
same manner as studs. Caution should always be
used when nailing, sawing, or drilling into walls, floors,
and ceilings that may contain these items.
. The detector will automatically power off if you don't
operate it for about 20 seconds.
