TENSES
Pasado Simple:
- Se utiliza para hablar de acciones completadas en el pasado.
- Los verbos regulares añaden "-ed" al final para formar la forma pasada.
- Estructura positiva: Sujeto + verbo pasado (+ complementos).
Estructura negativa: Sujeto + did not + verbo base (+ complementos).
Estructura de pregunta: Did + sujeto + verbo base (+ complementos)?
Ejemplos:
Positiva: "They watched a movie yesterday." (Ellos vieron una película
ayer)
Negativa: "She did not study for the test." (Ella no estudió para el examen)
Pregunta: "Did you go to the party last night?" (¿Fuiste a la fiesta anoche?)
Futuro Simple:
- Se utiliza para expresar acciones que tendrán lugar en el futuro.
- Se forma añadiendo "will" antes del verbo base.
Estructura positiva: Sujeto + will + verbo base (+ complementos).
Estructura negativa: Sujeto + will not/won't + verbo base (+
complementos).
Estructura de pregunta: Will + sujeto + verbo base (+ complementos)?
Ejemplos:
Positiva: "I will visit my grandparents tomorrow." (Visitaré a mis abuelos
mañana)
Negativa: "She won't come to the meeting." (Ella no vendrá a la reunión)
Pregunta: "Will they arrive on time?" (¿Llegarán a tiempo?)
Pasado Continuo:
- Se utiliza para hablar de acciones en progreso en un momento específico
en el pasado.
- Se forma con el verbo "to be" en el pasado y el verbo principal con "-ing"
al final.
- Estructura positiva: Sujeto + was/were + verbo en gerundio (+
complementos).
Estructura negativa: Sujeto + was/were + not + verbo en gerundio (+
complementos).
Estructura de pregunta: Was/Were + sujeto + verbo en gerundio (+
complementos)?
Ejemplos:
Positiva: "She was studying all night." (Ella estaba estudiando toda la
noche)
Negativa: "They were not playing football at that time." (Ellos no estaban
jugando fútbol en ese momento)
Pregunta: "Were you sleeping when I called?" (¿Estabas durmiendo
cuando te llamé?)
Presente Perfecto:
- Se utiliza para acciones que ocurrieron en el pasado, pero tienen
relevancia en el presente.
- Se forma con el verbo "to have" en el presente y el participio pasado del
verbo principal.
Estructura positiva: Sujeto + have/has + participio pasado (+
complementos).
Estructura negativa: Sujeto + have/has + not + participio pasado (+
complementos).
Estructura de pregunta: Have/Has + sujeto + participio pasado (+
complementos)?
Ejemplos:
Positiva: "We have finished our project." (Hemos terminado nuestro
proyecto)
Negativa: "He has not visited that country before." (Él no ha visitado ese
país antes)
Pregunta: "Have you ever tried sushi?" (¿Alguna vez has probado sushi?)
Pasado Perfecto:
- Se utiliza para hablar de una acción completada en el pasado antes de
otra acción pasada.
- Se forma con el verbo "to have" en el pasado y el participio pasado del
verbo principal.
Estructura positiva: Sujeto + had + participio pasado (+ complementos).
Estructura negativa: Sujeto + had + not + participio pasado (+
complementos).
Estructura de pregunta: Had + sujeto + participio pasado (+
complementos)?
Ejemplo:
Positive: "She had already eaten when I arrived." (Ella ya había comido
cuando llegué)
Negativa: "They had not seen each other for years." (No se habían visto en
años)
Pregunta: "Had you finished the book before the movie started?" (¿Habías
terminado el libro antes de que comenzara la película?)
AUXILIARES
"Be":
se utiliza como auxiliar para formar el presente continuo y el pasado
continuo.
Presente continuo: "He is studying for the exam." (Él está estudiando para
el examen).
Pasado continuo: "They were playing soccer when it started raining."
(Estaban jugando al fútbol cuando empezó a llover).
"Have" se utiliza como auxiliar para formar el presente perfecto, el pasado
perfecto y el futuro perfecto.
Presente perfecto: "She has visited London." (Ella ha visitado Londres).
Pasado perfecto: "I had already finished my work when he arrived." (Ya
había terminado mi trabajo cuando él llegó).
"Do":
se utiliza como auxiliar en preguntas y negaciones en los tiempos simples,
como el presente simple y el pasado simple.
Presente simple: "Do you like ice cream?" (¿Te gusta el helado?).
Pasado simple: "She didn't go to the party last night." (Ella no fue a la
fiesta anoche).
"Will":
se utiliza como auxiliar para formar el futuro simple.
Futuro simple: "I will visit my grandparents next month." (Visitaré a mis
abuelos el próximo mes).
"Would":
se utiliza como el condicional de "will" y también para expresar deseos,
cortesía y solicitudes educadas.
Conditional: "If I had more money, I would travel the world." (Si tuviera
más dinero, viajaría por el mundo).
Deseos y cortesía: "I would love to help you." (Me encantaría ayudarte).
En cuanto al uso de "ever" y "never" en el "Past Perfect" y el "Present
Perfect":
"Ever" se utiliza en preguntas y oraciones afirmativas para expresar la idea
de "alguna vez" o "en algún momento".
Ejemplo con "Past Perfect": "Had you ever been to Paris before?" (¿Habías
estado alguna vez en París antes?).
Ejemplo con "Present Perfect": "Have you ever tried sushi?" (¿Alguna vez
has probado sushi?).
"Never" se utiliza en oraciones negativas para expresar la idea de "nunca"
o "jamás".
Ejemplo con "Past Perfect": "She had never seen such a beautiful sunset."
(Ella nunca había visto una puesta de sol tan hermosa).
Ejemplo con "Present Perfect": "I have never been to Australia." (Nunca he
estado en Australia).
Sufijos
Ment convierte verbos en sustantivos
Y: indica abundancia y se puede añadir al final de un sustantivo
para formar adjetivos
Ion: El sufijo "-ion" en inglés se utiliza para formar sustantivos a
partir de verbos, adjetivos u otros sustantivos. Agregar "-ion" al
final de una palabra cambia su categoría gramatical a un
sustantivo.
Ity: El sufijo "-Ity" en inglés también se utiliza para formar
sustantivos a partir de adjetivos o sustantivos. Al agregar "-ity" al
final de una palabra, se crea un sustantivo que representa una
cualidad, estado o condición asociada con el adjetivo o sustantivo
original
