SITUACIÓN DE APRENDIZAJE:
La ciudad de Chiclayo ha desarrollado su comercio de manera notable en los últimos años, esto
gracias a la estratégica zona geográfica que posee, es por ello que cuando vamos de paseo, de visita
o para adquirir productos tecnológicos en esta ciudad, podemos ver algunos como: exprimidores de
naranja eléctricos, aspiradoras de piso automáticas, televisores más sofisticados, parlantes
inalámbricos, entre otros. ¿Puedes identificar inventos que nos ayudan en acciones de nuestra vida
diaria? ¿Tienes algún invento favorito? ¿Podrías extraer información específica sobre algún invento
al leer un texto escrito en inglés? ¿Podrías completar una ficha escribiendo en inglés.
THE CHALLENGE
“Discovery Teens” quiere publicar en su página web inventos favoritos que las personas tienen
y usan en sus vidas diarias. Para ahorrar espacio en la página web, las fichas informativas deben
considerar información clave sobre los inventos y sobre las personas que los describen.
Tu reto: Lee dos textos sobre personas que describen sus inventos favoritos y completa las
fichas informativas, que serán publicadas en la página web “Discovery Teens”.

All Around Me
Look around you. Look around your house, your neighbourhood, and your
community. Can you see technology all around you? Generally, we think
that technology is sophisticated and that it is not present in our lives. But
technology is everything that helps us solve problems every day and makes
our lives easier. Maya and Victor will talk about their favourite pieces of
technology.
Hi! I’m Maya Penn. I’m from The U.S.
My favourite piece of technology is my
sewing machine. I like my sewing machine
because I can make clothing with it. I
love drawing and designing clothes,
eco-friendly clothes, of course. Also, my
other favourite piece of technology is my
laptop. I like my laptop because I can draw
and create animation on my computer. It
is really fantastic. I think technology is all
around us.
Hello! I’m Victor Barraza. I’m Peruvian. My
favourite piece of technology is my bicycle
because I can go to different places with it.
I am the inventor of eco-friendly bicycles.
They are made of bamboo. I love riding
my eco-friendly bike every day. Another
of my favourite piece of technology is my
smartphone. I live in Lima, but my parents
live in Tingo María. I like my smartphone
because I can speak and make videocalls
with my parents and friends. Technology is
really great.
