descansamos 10 segundos y repetimos 3 veces. Realizamos el
movimiento lentamente.

N

Mantenemos esa posición 5 segundos, descansamos 20 segundos y
repetimos 3 veces.

Pressing the pelvis into the floor during certain back and shoulder strengthening exercises stabilizes the lower body, allowing more effective isolation and engagement of the upper body muscles. This stabilization creates a strong base, which enhances the effectiveness of extensions by preventing hyperextension of the lower back, making the movement safer and more controlled. It ensures that the focus remains on contracting the muscles of the upper back and shoulders, promoting better development and strength gains in these areas. By also encouraging core muscle engagement, this mechanic reduces the risk of strain or injury .

The "Cat and Dog" exercise improves spinal mobility by mobilizing each segment of the spine through flexion and extension. The movement helps decompress the spine and enhances the range of motion, which is essential for overall spinal health. By alternately curving the spine upwards and downwards, the exercise reduces stiffness in the back and encourages the flow of nutrients to the intervertebral discs. Additionally, maintaining these positions for at least 10 seconds stimulates the muscles along the spine, relieving tension and promoting relaxation. The exercise is mindful, encourages greater body awareness, and is beneficial for correcting posture and improving flexibility .

Alternating knee-to-chest exercises are effective for improving flexibility and posture because they stretch the muscles in the lower back and hips. Bringing the knee towards the chest helps lengthen and loosen these muscles, thus enhancing spinal mobility and reducing tension. By holding the position for five seconds, one can increase the flexibility over time, which aids in reducing back pain and aligning the spine better. This exercise also helps to stabilize the core muscles, which are key for maintaining good posture as it supports the natural curvature of the spine .

The isotonic abdominal contraction exercise benefits core stability and strength by engaging the deep core muscles, such as the transverse abdominis. By flattening the lumbar curvature and pressing the back against the floor, the exercise isolates the abdominal muscles, reducing reliance on the hip flexors and promoting better engagement of the core. Consistent practice of this exercise increases muscle endurance in the core, essential for stability, balance, and posture. Maintaining core stabilization contributes to reduced risk of injury, particularly in the lower back area, as a strong core helps distribute forces more evenly throughout the body .

The 'Superman' exercise and its quadruped variant both target the posterior chain muscles, including the erector spinae, glutes, hamstrings, and shoulder stabilizers, which are critical for maintaining posture and performing daily activities. The prone Superman enhances back extension strength by engaging both the upper and lower parts of the back simultaneously, which is crucial for countering the effects of prolonged spinal flexion due to sitting. On the other hand, the quadruped Superman challenges and improves overall stability and coordination by requiring the body to maintain balance while extending opposite limbs. This variant enhances proprioception and strengthens the core muscles as stabilizers, contributing to better functional movement and injury prevention .
