SOME VITAL ELEMENTS TO INCLUDE IN LETTERS
- Proper letter formats that are appropriate for the type of letter that you’re writing.
- Appropriate letter openings and endings.
- Ensure that all of the cues given are included in the letter.
- Letter must include proper introduction, body and conclusion.
- A wide range of vocabulary, expressions and synonyms.
- A variety of grammatical tenses and moods.
- Use of idiomatic expressions; minimum of five (5). The more idioms used in a letter enhances
your writing techniques.
- At least two (2) uses of the Imperfect Subjunctive.

- A minimum of five (5) expressions with the Present Subjunctive.
- Always check for subject / verb agreement, also for agreements of articles with nouns and
adjectives with nouns. Remember that Spanish nouns can either be masculine, feminine,
singular or plural and that the articles (el, la, los, las) and adjectives must agree with these
characteristics.

Querida Thalia,
¿Cómo estás? Espero que estés bien. Pues, estoy escribiendo para decirte sobre a mí
misma y por supuesto, todas las actividades que haremos cuando visites a mi país.
Al aeropuerto, llevaré vaqueros rojos, una blusa blanca y zapatos deportivos blancos.
También, daré una vuelta por tu lugar de desembarque. Usualmente, hace buen tiempo por aquí pero
durante la noche, hace frío a veces. Hoy en día, es muy peligroso viajar con muchas joyas y por eso,
es aconsejable que lleves poco o no joyas.
En cuanto vengas, estoy segura de que lo pasaremos bien. Te manejaré a muchos
lugares como; los Jardínes Botánicos, el Museo Nacional, el Zoológico y claro que sí, las playas
magníficas de mí país. También, es necesario que traigas tu cámara para sacar muchas fotos.
Espero con ganas verte porque eres una buena amiga. Por la primera vez en mi vida,
conozco a alguien que es muy simpática, honrada y muy cómica. ¡Ojalá llegues sana y salva!
