Trinity ISE III: Collaborative task
“A good friend of mine has asked me if he/she can be my lodger. There are certain
benefits to the arrangement but I could get myself into hot water.“
I beg your pardon, could you run over that again?
I’m afraid I didn’t really get your point, would you mind repeting that again?
I’m not really sure I understand, could you tell me what you mean by “lodger”?
Paso 2: Empieza siempre haciendo preguntas
A good friend of mine has asked
me if he/she can be my lodger. There are certain benefits to the arrangement but I could
get myself into hot water.”
I get your point, may I know why would you get yourself into hot water if your friend
becomes your lodger?
I get your point, but what are you afraid of if your friend becomes your lodger?
Ok, did you weigh up the pros and the cons of him becoming your lodger?
Utiliza frases como : I get your point/ I know
what you mean/ Indeed (en efecto)/ No brainer, that’s a tough situation (sin duda, es una
situación difícil)…
Paso 3.
Plantéale otros puntos de vista diferentes o retadores: Most of the people would
help their friends in need, so I guess your friend would really appreciate it…
Dale tu opinión (sea mostrando cautela, reservas, etc.): As far as I see it, I
would…, I agree up to a point, however…”
Expresa más empatía aún: It’s definitely difficult, I get it, however…
Cuéntale alguna anécdota que pudiera servir en éste caso: This reminds me the
time I…
Vuelve a hacerle alguna pregunta de vez en cuando: Don’t you think so? Do you
know what I mean?
