Skjld
Skjld (nrdico antiguo: Skldr; Latn: Scioldus[1] ) segn Saxo Grammaticus en su Gesta Danorum fue uno
de los primeros reyes legendarios de la protohistoria de
Dinamarca durante los primeros siglos de la Era cristiana.[2][3] Skld aparece mencionado en la saga Ynglinga,
Chronicon Lethrense, en la Historia de Sven Aagesen, en
la versin latina de la saga Skjldunga de Arngrmur Jnsson y la mencionada Gesta Danorum. Bajo la forma Scyld
tambin aparece en el poema pico Beowulf.[4] No obstante, las diferentes citas tienen muy poco en comn.

En la saga Skjldunga y saga Ynglinga, Odn procede de
Asia y conquista el norte de Europa. Dio a su hijos Yngvi
el gobierno de Suecia y a Skjldr, el gobierno sobre Dinamarca. Desde entonces los reyes de Suecia se llamaron
Ynglings y los de Dinamarca Skjldung (o Scylding).

Skjoldus le sucedi su hijo Gram.[5]
