First Conditional
“El First Conditional se usa para hablar de cosas que pueden pasar si se
cumple una condición. La acción está en el futuro.”
1. Regla presente simple forma afirmativo (añadir "s")
Cuando el sujeto es he, she, it, se le agrega "s" al verbo.
play → plays
read → reads
eat → eats
2. Verbos que terminan en -s, -sh, -ch, -x, -o → agregar "es"
watch → watches
go → goes
fix → fixes
3. Verbos que terminan en consonante + "y" → cambiar "y" por
"ies"
study → studies
carry → carries
fly → flies
4. Excepción: vocal + y → solo agregar "s"
Verbos:
play → plays
say → says
enjoy → enjoys
Fórmula para forma afirmativa,
Sujeto + will + verbo base + if + sujeto + presente simple
Nota: también puedes cambiar el orden:
If + sujeto + presente simple, sujeto + will + verbo base
Ejemplo:
1. We will arrive on time If we hurry.
If we hurry, we will arrive on time.
( Nosotros llegaremos a tiempo si nos damos prisa.)
2. He will succeed If he works hard.
If he works hard, he will succeed.
(ÉL tendrá éxito si él trabaja duro.)
3. You will catch the bus If you run.
If you run, you will catch the bus.
(Tú alcanzarás el autobús si corres.)
NEGATIVE FROM
Sujeto + will not (won’t) + verbo base + if + sujeto + don’t /
doesn’t + verbo base
1. I won't go If she doesn't call.
If she doesn't call, I won't go.
(Yo no iré si ella no llama.)
2. we won't arrive on time If we don't leave now.
If we don't leave now, we won't arrive on time.
(Nosotros no llegaremos a tiempo si no salimos ahora.)
3. You won't understand If you don't listen.
If you don't listen, you won't understand.
(Tú no entenderás si no escuchas.)
INTERROGATIVE FROM
Will + sujeto + verbo base + if + sujeto + presente simple?
1. Will it rain if the sky stays dark?
If the sky stays dark, will it rain?
– (¿Lloverá si el cielo sigue oscuro?)
+ Yes, it will. / Sí, lloverá.
-No, it won’t. / No, no lloverá.
2. Will she cry if you leave?
If you leave, will she cry?
– (¿Ella llorará si te vas?)
+ Yes, she will. / Sí, llorará.
- No, she won’t. / No, no llorará.
