📌 These are MANDATORY contractions – you CANNOT skip them!
a + el = AL Voy al cine. (I go to the cinema.)

📌 Months are NOT capitalized in Spanish!

🇪 Expressing Dates (Expresar Fechas)
📌 Structure: el + [day number] + de + [month] + de + [year]. Use 'primero' for the 1st.
✦ ¿Qué fecha es hoy? → What is today's date?
✦ Hoy es el 21 de marzo de 2026. → Today is March 21, 2026.
✦ Mi cumpleaños es el 15 de julio. → My birthday is on July 15th.
✦ Hoy es el primero de enero. → Today is January 1st. (use 'primero' for 1st!)
🇪 Telling Time (Decir la Hora)
📌 Use 'Es la' for 1 o'clock. Use 'Son las' for all other hours.

📌 Days are NOT capitalized. 'el lunes' = on Monday. 'los lunes' = every Monday.

🇪 Verb GUSTAR (to like) & ENCANTAR (to love)
📌 GUSTAR works backwards! The subject is what is liked, not the person. Use 'gusta' for one thing,
'gustan' for multiple things.

⚽ Verb JUGAR (to play) – O→UE Stem Change
📌 JUGAR is used with sports: jugar + a + sport. Remember: a + el = AL

MUY = very (before adjectives/adverbs) Es muy alto. (He is very tall.)
MUCHO = much/many/a lot (before Hay mucha gente. (There are many

MUCHO after a verb = a lot Me gusta mucho. (I like it a lot.)

📌 Three main patterns: E→IE, O→UE, E→I. These changes happen in all forms EXCEPT nosotros
and vosotros!
