Getting Started

Quickstart

Give your agent a lasting memory in about two minutes

1. Create an account

Sign up free at app.hypermemory.io/signup with email, Google or GitHub.

2. Install HyperMemory

Pick your tool and paste the instruction into it. The agent installs HyperMemory, opens the sign-in page in your browser, and loads the latest HyperMemory skill.

Works in Claude Code (terminal or IDE) and in the Code and Cowork tabs of the Claude desktop app. Paste this into Claude:

Install the HyperMemory plugin from https://github.com/hypermemory-ai/hm-plugins-claude
(first make sure Python 3 and Git are installed on this computer and install them if
they are missing), then start the HyperMemory OAuth sign-in so the authentication page
opens in my browser and wait for me to approve it, and finally download and install the
latest HyperMemory skill.

Restart Claude when it asks, so the plugin's hooks load. More →

In a regular claude.ai chat, which doesn't install plugins, add HyperMemory as a connector instead: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector with https://api.hypermemory.io/mcp. Then paste the instruction above — Claude signs you in and installs the skill. More →

3. Tell it something

We decided to launch the new checkout on 2 November, after the security review. I prefer short status updates with the decision first.

The agent stores a decision about the launch and a preference about how you like updates, linked to each other and to you.

4. Ask about it — anywhere

Open a new conversation — or a different tool connected to the same account — and ask:

When are we launching checkout, and how do I like updates written?

The agent calls hm_recall and answers from memory.

5. Look at your memory

Open the dashboard: the Visualizer shows the nodes your agent created and how they connect, and Timeline shows what happened, when.
