# GitHub integration: index repos and review PRs

> Install the Graphify GitHub App to index your default branch on every push, sync repositories, and review pull requests. Edge cases and errors.

Graphify connects to GitHub through the Graphify GitHub App. You choose which repositories the app can see. Graphify indexes each one from its default branch, keeps the graph current on every push, and reviews pull requests against it.

## Connect repositories

**1. Open Repositories**

Sign in to [Graphify](https://app.graphify.com) and open **Repositories**.

**2. Install the GitHub App**

Click **Add GitHub repositories**. GitHub asks where to install the Graphify GitHub App and which repositories it can access. You need permission to install apps on that account or organization.

**3. Wait for the first index**

You return to **Repositories**. Each selected repository builds its first graph. When its status is **Indexed**, your agents can query it.

To add or remove repositories later, change the app's repository access on GitHub, or click **Add GitHub repositories** again.

## Claim an install from github.com

If you installed the Graphify GitHub App from github.com instead of from Graphify, the install is not connected to a workspace yet. Graphify shows it on **Repositories** (and during onboarding) with a **Claim** button.

**1. Find the pending install**

Open **Repositories**. Owners and admins see a row for each GitHub account or organization that is installed but not connected.

**2. Click Claim**

**Claim** proves you control that GitHub install and binds it to your current workspace. You may be asked to confirm on GitHub.

**3. Index the repositories**

After the claim, the repositories from that install appear in the workspace and can build their graphs.

Unclaimed installs stay claimable for a limited time. If the row disappears, install the app again from **Add GitHub repositories**, or from GitHub and claim it while signed in.

If you uninstall and reinstall the Graphify GitHub App on the same GitHub account, your repositories move over to the new install.

## What the app does

* **Indexing.** A push to the default branch starts an index of that commit. Other branches do not change the graph. See [Repositories and builds](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/repositories.md).
* **Pull request reviews.** A review runs when a pull request is opened, reopened, or marked ready for review. New commits do not start a new review on their own. To review the current head, a repository owner, member, or collaborator comments `@graphify review`. See [Pull request reviews](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/reviews.md).
* **Formal verification.** Runs on each push to a pull request, separately from reviews. See [Formal verification](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/verification.md).
* **Feedback.** Reply `@graphify wrong <finding>`, `@graphify good <finding>`, or `@graphify suppress <rule>` to tune later reviews. See [Learning](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/learning.md).

Graphify reads repository contents to build the graph. Indexing tokens are short-lived and limited to the repositories you selected. They are never sent to your browser or stored. See [Security and data handling](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/support/security.md).

## Edge cases

* Pushes to other branches and branch deletions are ignored.
* A repository with indexing turned off ignores pushes.
* If you uninstall the app or remove a repository from it, reindex returns `409 provider_disconnected`. Reinstall the app, or remove the repository from Graphify.

See [Troubleshooting](https://docs.graphify.com/platform/support/troubleshooting.md#repository-connect-issues).

## Turn reviews off

In **Repositories**, open **Options** for the repository and switch **PR reviews** off. Indexing keeps running.
