MY BEST FRIEND

I have many friends, among them …………..is my best friend. He is my neighbour. He is a

very intelligent and kind boy. ………… always maintains a very neat and clean look. He is good at
studies. Every day in the evening he plays with me. ................... is also a very obedient boy. He
respects his teachers and loves his friends very much. He always comes first in class. He also helps
me a lot in my studies. Wherever we go, we go together. He is always there in my sorrows and
happiness. Whenever I am in trouble he stands by me and helps me in solving my problems. He
respects my parents too. After we finish our studies he comes over to my house to play carrom and

MY FAVOURITE ANIMAL

My Country India
India is a peaceful and democratic country. People belonging to different castes, creeds and
religions live here peacefully. India is the nuclear state. APJ Abdul Kalam is called as the Missile
Man of India who made India prosperous in the filed of technology.
India is one of the seventh largest country of world. It is the second most populated country
of world. It is also called as the Bharat or Hindustan. India is a peninsula because it is surrounded
by oceans from three sides.
The national language of India is Hindi and the national animal of India is Tiger. Whereas, the
national bird of India is Peacock. The national flower of India is lotus and its national fruit is mango.
There are three colors in the flag of India.
The tricolor flag of India in the upper most par, the saffron color, represents purity. Whereas,
in the middle, the white color, represents peace and in the lowest part of the flag, the green color,
symbolizes fertility. The national anthem of India is “Jana Gama Mana” and the national song of
India is “ Vande Mataram”.
India is also called as the land of spirituality, philosophy, science and technology. It is also familiar
for its agriculture and farming practices.
Many kinds of grains and fruits are grown here. India has unity in diversity. People live here
peacefully. There are many cultures and traditions that are practiced in India.
 POLLUTION
Introduction:
Pollution is defined as an introduction of pollutants or impurities into the environment
that results in an adverse change. There are several ways in which our environment can get
polluted. Some of them being the use of chemicals, excessive noise, garbage disposal etc.
 What is Pollution?
Pollution is when harmful substances are added in the environment and then
change it in a bad way. The agents causing pollution are called pollutants.
 What are the different types of pollution?
Pollution occurs in several different forms. It has become a major environmental
issue all across the globe. Any unwelcome and disagreeable change in the air, land, soil, water,
etc. contributes towards pollution. All these changes can be in the form of chemical, biological
or physical changes. The medium that causes pollution is referred to as pollutants.
Let us take a look at the different types of pollution in detail:
1) Air Pollution
When the entire atmosphere gets filled up with harmful toxic gases that are released due to
economic and industrial activities, then it leads to pollution of the air and the whole
atmosphere. This leads to air pollution.
2) Water Pollution
This is another major form of pollution that is very destructive for the nature. As we all
know that natural sources of water are getting depleted day by day and this has made water a
rare commodity. Unfortunately, even in these critical times, these remaining water sources are
getting contaminated by impurities from several sources (like industrial waste, garbage
disposal etc.), that makes them inappropriate for human consumption.
3) Garbage Pollution
When people don’t obey to proper mechanisms of waste disposal, then it results in
accumulation of waste. This in turn causes garbage pollution. The only means to address this
problem is to make sure a proper system for waste disposal is present that doesn’t cause
contamination to the environment.

Conclusion:
Any natural resource found in the environment, when used at a higher rate than the ability of
its restoration, leads to depletion, thereby causing environmental pollution. This will lead to the
declination of environmental quality and is evidenced by the loss of biodiversity, loss of flora
and fauna, the introduction of new diseases and stressful life in the human population, etc.
 NATIONAL FESTIVALS
India celebrates three national festivals – Republic Day, Independence Day and
Gandhi Jayanti. National festivals in India are celebrated with as much pomp and show as
the religious festivals of different states. The citizens of our country are seen immersed
in the feeling of patriotism on all three festivals. Various big and small events to
celebrate these festivals are organized at different places throughout the country.
Schools, colleges, offices and markets are decked up with flowers, balloons, flags
and tri-colour drapes to add to the festive mood. Skits, poetry recitation, debates, fancy
dress competitions and various cultural programs are organized as a part of these
celebrations. The celebrations at schools, offices and other institutes are mostly held a
day before these festivals as the same are closed on the festival day. Various housing
societies also organize get together to celebrate these festivals. They usually celebrate
these during the morning hours. Cultural activities are organized, patriotic songs are
played and brunch or lunch is usually arranged for the people.
These festivals are celebrated to honour our great leaders and get inspired by their
deeds. The events organized to celebrate these festivals also offer a good platform to
bond with our neighbours, colleagues and other near and dear ones.

Mass Media
What the Term Means : All the different tools that are used to assist the distribution and
circulation of information and entertainment to the public come under the umbrella of mass
media. Radio, television, cable, newspapers, and theatre are all considered as 'mass media'.
Important of mass media
They inform, educate and entertain people. They also influence the way people look at the
world and make them change their views. Mass media plays a very important role in
organizing public opinion. ... Mass media denotes a section of the media specifically designed
to reach a large audience.
Types of mass media –
Newspaper, radio, cinema,magazines, the Internet, and television.
Benefits of mass media
For teenagers, the benefits of media include opportunities to develop or explore:
reading, writing and critical thinking skills – for example, by using blogs and chat rooms. social
connections – for example, by connecting with others on social media.

DOWRY SYSTEM
“Any young man, who makes dowry a condition to marriage, discredits his education and
his country and dishonours womanhood” – Mahatma Gandhi.
In India, there is a practice to give presents to the girl at the time of her marriage. Their
marriage gifts are known as dowry. The parents of the girl velds her materially at the time of
going to her bridegroom’s house.
In the present time dowry has become a curse sometimes it becomes difficult to quench
the thirst of girl’s father-in-law. He forces more and more the girl’s parents to give something or
the other. If his greed is not satisfied, the girl is tortured. In such a condition often a newly
married girl of a poor family commits suicide. Parents give dowry to help their daughter for
starting a new life and as a token of love.
 Married women suffer much. Sometimes a young bride dies in a store explosion and
sometimes found hanging from a ceiling fan. This happens when a lady does not bring enough
money from her parents. “The need of a person can be satisfied but not the greed”.
The government has also passed a law making dowry a punishable offence however it is
still being practised in most parts of the country causing agony for the girls and their families.
Demanding checked if public opinion is formed against it. This can not be checked without the
support of the public.
The abolition of dowry is the need of today. Young boys should realise that they are not
commodities to be sold. Young girls should refuse to marry young boys whose parents are
greedy. Without determination, the evil can not disappear.
‘Money is not the source of happiness but it is the source of pain. When we earn it, it gives
pain, when we guard it, it gives pain and it gives pain when it is lost.’

My Hobby
In my free time, I love to read interesting and knowledgeable books. Coming from school,
I love to read this kind of book while finishing my homework. I’m 11 years old and study in
class 10th standard.

Now, I understand that reading is a good habit that will make me a complete girl. Any of
us can develop this hobby. In fact, I achieved this naturally. Reading will always keep us busy
and happy. It’s a better source of knowledge, inspiration, enjoyment, and instruction.

Besides, this makes us a loyal, punctual, disciplined and successful person in our life.
Books are my best friend and I don’t feel alone. This habit is more special than gold or other
stones in the world.

However, it gives us a high level of thoughts, experiences, ideas, and knowledge in

different fields. I swear if you get interesting and good books, you would take that as your best
friend.

The people who don’t have any habit of reading books, they would always be poor due to
the lack of rich knowledge. This habit could be achieved by young people. The habit of reading
books can be acquired at a young age by anyone.

1) The golden egg

In a distant village there was farmer. His income was very small. He passed
his days with difficulty. One day, someone gave him a magical hen. It gave a golden egg

2) The cap seller and monkeys

Once cap seller was going through [Link] slept under the tree .There lived monkeys on
the [Link] monkeys took caps of the cap seller when he was sleepeing and climbed up
[Link] he woke up he saw that monkeys wore [Link] thought,How to get caps back?
Finally he made a trick. He looked at the monkeys, and threw his own cap down. All
monkeys also threw their caps down. The cap-seller immediately collected the caps
and went away happily..
