1. it's great2. can the tips & notes exclusive for desktop please be made accessible on mobile? honestly i don't learn anything substantial on mobile, it's mostly "write this word/sentence/phrase over and over in language x". sure if you read/translate enough sentences you'd Get The Gist of What's Happening O'er There but as far as i know, Getting the Gist or Understanding the Feel of a language is never enough. probably just me, but i've never figured out the grammar of a language just by "observing the patterns in different sentences". it's like the exercises are the exterior of a cat, and the tips & notes are its internal parts; yeah, the cat definitely exists and it looks functional, but it's more or less hard to understand why it Does What It Does unless you examine its internal workings and history. basically you can't learn grammar just by giving vocabulary.3. please fix This Bug: glitches progress within a day, XP earned from lessons/lesson refreshers aren't registered immediately. when starting with (for example) 30XP and finishing a lesson, sometimes it stays at 30XP for a while and not 40XP. it stays at (e.g.) 30XP unless i wait around 5 minutes or restart the app, it will update to 40XP only then.4. the activities/games in the language clubs are fun, diverse, helpful and cute ü
Legendary and Time
Airrryn
Duolingo is a good app. It's fun, the instructions are easy to understand (sometimes). I have a problem with the math course, though. There is this one problem where you need to type a number to show how much time passed according to the clock. It's confusing because sometimes it's in hours, sometimes in minutes. I keep on getting them wrong because it doesn't specify what units to use, and the clock doesn't help very much. It shows the minute marks but you have to type it in hours, sometimes you do have to type it in minutes. Same thing with clocks that show hours. I'd like it if you specified what unit to use. Another thing is with Legendary units. I really want to see what happens if I get a section where all the units are Legendary, but it glitches because of the "Lucy is Listening" and "Lily and Strangers" activites. These activities can't be made Legendary, but most of the time it will automatically make them gold even if you didn't do it (which is impossible). This is the same thing with Adventures. But lately even if I make all the lessons and stories Legendary, they don't turn gold. When I tap the trophy, I click go to Legendary, but it doesn't work and glitches. It's a bit sad because I really wanted to make the unit all Legendary.Overall, Duolingo's fun. But it has a few glitches. Aside from that, it's all right. The Adventures in the French course are really nice.
The Crowns Aren’t Working For Me

I’ve been using Duolingo for years and I’ve seen it change several times. And for the most part, those changes have been pretty neat. But this crown system, I’m not a big fan of it. Before, you get a sense of accomplishment when you see a lesson turn gold. Then, it changes back to its color once you need to practice it again. But now, it just gives you these crowns. You see the gold circle start to fill up but when you finish the last part of the lesson, it disappears and you get a crown. The lesson remains the same color. It feels very disappointing, really. The crowns just say how many times you’ve completed the lessons. I no longer feel satisfied once I’ve completed the lesson. For me, that “gold transformation” of the lesson icon was a reward. I get motivated to turn as many lessons to gold as I can. Then they start to revert to their colors and I do it again. I hope you bring back that system. The numbers on the crowns don’t really feel significant to me. Still, 5 Stars because this really is the best language learning app out there.
